Dripping through the tip?

I just bout a Vertex V2, do I really need to take the cap off to drip or can I just drip through the tip and it will still get soaked up by the cotton?

Just drip through the drip tip. You do not have to uncap.

I would say most people with RDAs drip through the tip. It's easier to do it that way.

If you can drip down the tip without getting it on the sides, do it!

If the tip is too small, or your hands aren't steady enough, pull it off. (Although those of us lacking steady hands need to balance the risks of trying to drip "straight down the tube" with the risks of chasing that dropped drip-tip under the couch......)

A wide drip tip opening makes it easier, but it still may depend on the atty. With one of mine I have to take the cap off due to where the air holes are. If I drip through a drip tip a lot of the juice goes into the inside air holes and leaks out of the outside ones.

I have a wide bore muffler drip tip but I still take the cap off when I drip. I feel as if I'm just soaking the center post of my atty and not really getting it on the cotton. to each his own
