Started with carts. Seemed to have to fill every other puff (ok wasnt that bad). Easy enough sitting at computer, but as soon as I learned about cartomizers I was hooked.

Have dripped a few times on my 3.7V mod with a 2.3 ohm atomizer testing juice.

Seems to work, but I prefer the long gaps between filling the cartomizer gives me. Two in rotation never need to worry all day long. Have an small dropper bottle now, so may give dripping a try. Think if you arent constantly dripping (or overdripping) it might be the most efficient way, but will need a REAL dripper to tell us.

Remember you can always squeeze the juice out of the cartridge filler when you decide to change flavors, clean them, run out, etc. Not sure if you can reclaim anything from a cartomizer, but could vape it dry if you were brave enough.

I agree with suddenlyno - I much prefer it - I honestly don't think its more hassle than messing with carts + fillers. Dripping takes seconds to do once you're proficient at it. I know exactly when I need to top off (flavor gets fainter) dont have any burned taste issues or anything like that.

Edit: forgot to add - I use empty carts as mouthpieces as opposed to drip tips SOLEY because i prefer the whistle tips.

I have dripper tips but I like the old whistle tips myself.

I'm a dripper only. Either with a drip tip or empty cart cut shorter so it doesn't get near the atty. I don't like vaping poly fill
I think I go through less juice, I use it all, nothing stuck in poly. No messing around with filling and washing and all that.

Yuck, I must agree 100% !

I have not tried cartos yet so I may change my mind at some point in time.
I do like dripping. I agree with suddenlyno, it just tastes better to me.
It's easy to break down an old cart for further use.
I don't drill them out. I just pop the top, deposit a couple of drops and put it back on the atty .

1. Rip it's guts out ! (discard)
2. Remove the end cap
3. Remove the inner cap (discard)
4. This is what you should see.
You could remove this but I never do.
5. Replace the end cap

See continued...........next post
6. Make sure you push this thing in hard !
It should be slightly recessed IMO. (could be a choking hazard if it comes out)
7. Toss the poly and inside cap.
8. put a few drops in the atty , pop on the empty cart and enjoy !

I actually like a combination of both. I enjoy dripping 1-2 drops into my cartomizer, smoking for 10-20m, taking a break, then repeating.

Dripping gives you that nice fresh initial burst of flavor, while the subsequent vaping tastes just as good without all the hassle of dripping more =) Probably purely psychological (the vaping after the drip tasting just as fresh), but hey, whatever works.

Had some trouble initially with overfilling cartomizer and getting a gurgle. Was so used to carts that I was constantly topping off when not needed. Now I tend to rotate a couple at a time then top off the old one and put it in my keychain light and spin it before setting it down. Gurgling not a big deal if you dont suck too hard and get juiced. Once gurgling stops the vape is on and strong for a while before I even think of switching unless decide to switch flavors.

For everyone using Cartomizers... use a drip tip on top of it!!!
I hate getting any nic juice in my mouth, and would get it all the time. Using a drip tip on top of a carto, I only get the occasional droplet when the carto snap-crackles-and-pops a bit straight up the tip.

Back to the original topic.
I use both dripping and cartomizers. I like to drip when I'm sampling new juices and when I'm in the mood for something a bit stronger then what I usually vape.
Not having to commit a cartomizer to a flavor/strength is a good thing.

I use cartomizers for my favorite flavors, and when I'm relaxing/gaming/driving. I like to top off my carto every few minutes of vaping even though it doesn't NEED it, simply because I've dissected enough of them to know that keeping them soaked slows, (NOT STOPS), the burning process.
When I'm dripping, I find that after every 3-4 puffs, I need to drip again, not very compatible with anything that requires concentration.

Friends don't let friends drip and drive.

So in summation, my advice is to try both, a box of 5 cartomizers can be bought for cheaper then most places sell a single atomizer for. If you have a few spare dollars, get a drip tip for your atomizer and try using it on your cartomizer too.

If money is no option, or you are the do it yourself type, look into Juice box mods. They offer the drip experience without all the hassle.

Now why didnt I think of that. Even a teryn spin cant always eliminate that stray glob that ends up in your mouth. I'll have to look for a good drip tip. Does it just fit in with the rubber tip popped out?

Amen Brother. Would hate to have to outlaw dripping and driving along with cell phones, texting (really people text and drive??), remember seeing a show about the autoban and how the german car manufacturers couldnt figure out why the American consumer demanded cup holders. In their minds when you got in a car you got in it to drive. (Guess at 100+ you better pay attention to what you are doing). Again they just couldnt figure out why we love to eat, drink, apply makeup, etc etc. Maybe the speed limits on our hwys dont save lives.

I will drip when sitting at home, using a delrin drip tip on a 901 atty. All other times, it's cartos (KR8). I've tried standard carts, don't hold enough juice and prone to messiness (even with PTB mod and straw mod). I haven't tried any of the blue foam mods or ZFM, too much work for my tastes.

I have thought of a direct injection set-up for a second mod, but everything I've thought of so far has looked like it would only really work well in theory. And that's not good enough for me to buy parts and break out the tools.

When I first started I was opposed to the idea of dripping for some reason. Now that I have tried it I can't stop!
I will have some blank carts and will use those for when driving long hauls or at places where it is inconvenient to drip.
I was using old gutted carts at first for dripping, with the end and inner caps still intact. Seemed to help "cool" off the vapor, but now I got a delrin drip tip and it is the bomb. Can drip thru it when in a hurry, but will still pull it off to get the drops right on the atty.

Before I got the delrin tip, I tried gutting a cart to make my own. The end cap came out easily enough, but had the hardest time getting the inner cap out (510 cart). Will try the method shown in the pics. I ended up holding the cart with pliers and using a drill to rout it out, it was really rough looking when I was done, lol.

**Edit**
Misspoke, what I meant was I drilled out the inner rail(?), inner cap popped out easy but that little molded piece under that. Was trying to make a straight through tube just like a drip tip is. It seemed to me that molded piece inside would inhibit juice from getting down on the atty

Personally I used carts on the 801 penstlye at first, and moved over to dripping after trying numerous cart mods. The problems I was having was with flooding the atty, or with dry burnt taste after a few pulls on the cart. I figured if I was constantly pulling and topping off then why not drip? After dripping for 2 months now I would say its not a hassle, and great for all the reasons the people above me have mentioned. I found dripping to be more work spread out, btu after the hassle of cart mods, flooding, topping off etc... it seems like less work to drip. Carts are for driving now :)
