I have just purchase a KR808 that uses a cartomizer to use for a smoke generator on a puppet stage. So I have spent the evening playing a lot with it and here are some of my findings.

First, I was unaware of what dripping was, but did successfully find a description under a message "Noob guide to Direct Dripping". It does have directions for cartomizers.

The cartomizer has a tube down the center, which has the nicrhome wire going up the inside, and down the outside of the small tube. It is not coiled, like other atomizer's nichrome wires. Actually, I am not certain if this wire is nichrome both directions. I tis possible that the nichrome is soldered to some other metal wire one way, but it doesn't look so. (Note to new people; nichrome wire heats up when electricity goes through it, and this is what vaporizes the juice.)

This center tube is surrounded by the absorbent material that is soaked with the juice. Then, outside of the absorbent material is the outer shell of the cartomizer itself. At the base of the cartomizer is the threads that screw onto the battery, and at the top is a removable cap that has the hole for the smoke to be inhaled through.

I am uncertain if the the small inner tube is absorbent or not, as I haven't taken one of these apart yet.

I've never used a PV -w- cartomizers, so I don't have any cartomizers to play with, but I was sitting here vapeing, reading about cartomizers as I was dripping a few drops and wondered if you could remove the innards from a cartomizer except for the atomizer and use it to drip?

Has anyone played with this idea?
I just took apart my cartomizer from my scam "knight sticks" order which by the way arrived as a "Phoenix" cigarette (not to be confused by the Phoenix cigarettes they advertise on this website, totally different) and it has a series of little plastic o rings and fibrous discs down to the atomizer... looks like I can take it apart and drip on it easy enough as a back up to my Njoy Npro that someone gave me that works like a champ. I now have a fear of having one system going down and not having a back up! Wierdly enough, the end on this "Phoenix/Knight Sticks" battery is female and the atomizer/cartomizer end is male. All the other cartomizers I have seen have a female end. Are there any carts interchangeable with a male end you guys know about?

I pulled the filler out of one a few weeks ago and just left the exposed wire to drip on,

If you grab the filler material and just turn the cart back and forward gently, the filler will come out rather easily, then I just snipped the other small fibrous round bits that surround the wire with tweezers, and they come away easily too.

but it didn't work very well as the liquid would collect at the bottom of the cart and not much would stick to the wire, so I used a toothpick to bend the wire down to the bottom but it gets flooded/drowned easily and is just too much hassle imo. I tried raising the wire back up so it would sit just above the pool at the bottom, so I could just give it a shake to re-wet the wire, but it broke and I gave up, but it is still worth testing if you are a hard-core dripper.

I ripped the element out and stuffed it with polly-fill from an 801 cart and stuck it on top of a normal carto, so now it is a double-storey carto that works wonderfully, so all was not lost. (pics to come)

Its not true dripping but tail piping the cart is possible. Use a .... plug and fill all the way up and then vape until it looks a little dry and add three to four drops. Your gonna suck some juice till you get it down so be warned.

Its basicly an always full cartomizer. I have three flavors of cartomizer tail pipes. I cut the top half of the condom so it is half size and leave the other as is for filling. If you pull the fiber you will eventually short you batts when it falls over. Without the metal mesh you can only 'top up drip'. yes I coined that phrase as well as 'drip piping'

510 has come out with a cartomizer that has male threads on it. I don't know if they're the right size for your application. I seen them on one of the vendors sites,

I also shoved some polyfill on top of the carto wire/filler and is good for dripping. I recomend using an 801 soft-tip on it though as it is prone to liquid mouth syndrome.

YouTube - cartoplus mod for Carto

just dont put the mouthpiece cap on (o-ring optional too), pull the 801 tip off with teeth and drip straight onto the filler, it will wick down to the normal carto filler.

i pulled the filler out of my kr808 and of course the fine material covering the wick. I had to shove the fine material back down in there and make sure it was snug around the wire so it wasn't glowing bright red. It works wonderfully and I am now dripping and getting massive amounts of vapor. However on the next one I will only be removing the filler and leaving the fine material in tact, maybe possibly just pushing the mesh down instead of taking it out completely.
