I like a good solid hit from my e-cigarette and early on, I discovered that the only atty that would give me what I wanted, was the ego mega atty. Even though I liked the way they hit, more than any other atty I tried, they were very finicky and I was burning them up, left and right. I would usually start out using two in rotation, since they would gum up after two days causing the need for a cleaning. After each cleaning, they'd be a little weaker than the last time they were used and end up burning out after about 1.5 weeks. Also, for me to get the hit that I wanted, I would have to draw on it for at least 8 seconds and I think this contributed greatly to each attys demise. This was getting very frustrating and not to mention, expensive. Then, about two weeks ago I started on my last new atty and it suddenly dawned on me, what I was doing wrong.
I can't remember if it was by accident or what, but all I know is that my mega attys work flawlessly now. Consistent hit, each and every time and they work like new for over a week, without having to clean them. Each day I kept expecting the vapor production to fall off, but nope, it just kept chuggin' along. After a week, I finally decided to rotate that first atty out, even though it was still working fine. The thing is that what I did was so simple, don't know why I didn't think of it before. The strange thing about the mega atty is that it gurgles and making it work right is all about the gurgle. There has to be other people that have figured this out. Am I the only one?

Well, I figured if anyone wanted to know, they'd ask and you did. Ok What I figured out was that the angle of the ego as I am drawing is important. In the past, I would always draw on it with the battery end pointing downward or slightly downward. I still do this, but I change the angle of the ego as I am drawing on it. As soon as it starts to gurgle, I raise the battery end up until the ego is level or slightly above level. Once it is raised, the gurgling stops and you draw on it until your done. You want it to gurgle, but only for a very short time. It's as simple as that and it may not seem like it would make a difference, but it does in a major way. I find it works best for me, using a dewicked atty, but works well with an atty that hasn't been dewicked, just a matter of personal preference.

I've noticed when I'm dripping, if I have enough juice on there for it to gurgle, I don't get much vapor. Once the excess is gone, then the clouds start rolling. Maybe by tilting it, you are getting some of that extra juice away from the atty so it can work properly? But, hey, whatever works, right? I used to have a car that every once in a while I had to shift into neutral when coming to a stop or it would die (and it was automatic). Ok, that analogy made sense in my head, but I don't know how well it translates here lol.
