it is ok. I did with regular attys before trying LR atty. But you wont get much flavor from ur regular atty. LR atty is awesome and definitely worth a try. Moreover they last longer.
It's fine to drip on a regular atty. LR's will give more vapor but dripping on a standard atty is great too. LR's will drain your battery a bit faster than standard ones since they get hotter faster and produce more heat. You can get more vapor from a regular atty by pressing the button about a second before starting to take a draw. If you're happy with the atty's you've got there's no reason to use anything else.
Dripping is not just for LR attys. The resistance of the atomizer has nothing, whatsoever, to do with the application of the juice.
I prefer to drip on standard resistance 510 attys. They give me the best/most flavor.
Oddly enough, I prefer LR 306s for bottom feeding, which, like dripping, is direct application of the juice onto the atomizer.

Yes, you can drip any atty... the LR is just a lower ohm atty and will heat the juice faster and produce more vapor. You will, however, need to drip more frequently on the LR and keep it wet it will pop on you faster than the regular atty if not kept wet.
Just got my new Joye Ego with standard atty and chrome drip tip in the mail today, Cant wait to open them and try!!! I used a Friends who drips on both a standard and an LR. The LR seemed to make more vapor, but the standard is practical...Especially if you didnt think about ordering an LR like me 
Just barely 24hrs into vaping and i too notices that the LR makes more vapor....but the constant dripping kinda itch me....but im not gonna complain since i just barely started.....
Maybe ill get use to it sooner or later....

It took me awhile to get the hang of dripping because either I wouldn't get enough vapor or i'd flood the atty. I'm just using a standard 510 atty. All of a sudden I was dripping great with no problems! I can't figure it out but I'm happy with dripping now!
I had no clue either dont feel bad, I drip 2-3 direct to my standard 510 never had a issue you just kinda have to get the hang of it similar to re learning how to draw
I have a 510 and ordered a silver metal drip tip. I can't seem to get the hang of it! I put in 3 drops and next thing I know, it's running out of the area connecting the tip to the battery. I'm obviously doing something wrong (not unusual). So, now I just buy flavored cartomizers and keep refilling them (I've used my current one for two weeks straight..not by choice, but it's still working).
Note: the drip tip that I bought is made without an o-ring so the mouth piece won't come off...maybe related?

Yep, just turn the volts up! Make a higher resistance hit just as hard as a LR one, but your attys last longer.
I prefer regular 510s for some juices and a regular 901 for others. Coffee juices are best on my 510 while lighter fruit juices seem better on my 901. However, I tried LR510 in the morning with a coffee juice and nearly coughed up a lung. Just a light-weight I guess. Brew

I' a complete nub but for me I diddnt spend any additional money on accessories, direct dripping is working awsome for me, I normally drip 1-2 times on a dry atty, cigar puff a couple times to bypass those heavy throat hits and 1-2 more drops depending on how long im trying to sess. on it. never have overflowed it, im always holding it horizontally and spinning it in my hand to try to circulate the juice idk if its right or wrong but it works.
I've used the 510 regular and Lr atty. On the regular I've noticed more flavor, and juice lasts longer for me. On the Lr slightly reduced flavor, very easy to make clouds, and burns through juice fast. I can't comment on the durability/life expectancy, since I haven't had any attys die on me yet, but I have had the regular since 19 July 2010, and the Lr since 01 Nov 2010....
10 days later...I started using the regular resistance attys again but this time I used my carts with blue foam and I forgot how good it was. I can't seem to decide which I like best. Dripping or using the cart??? They are both great.
Try a debridged atty, they're awesome. (Search youtube, there's a couple 'how to' videos, try it on an old atty first just in case, but its totally easy)
I've been reading up and watching youtube videos on dripping the past few days...decided ill try...cleaned my atty...(since i've only just started with a kit ) did i few drops 3, 4 max...HEAVEN!!! So much better than those little sponges inside ha! Decided I'd place an order for a new drip tip, 10 samplers and menthol 24mg...i'm loving this...analogs can take a hike!!!
