I don't think dripping is usually done with something with a tank. A dripping atomizer like the HH.357 no polyfill just a coil with wick and some mesh around it or another Polyfill atomizer like for a cig-a-like is something you can use for dripping. You can also do a Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer (RDA) like an IGO-L or Nimbus to drip, but this involves buying wick and wire material and making your own coil and you will need to take into consideration the ohms(resistance) and volts of your setup(among many other things) for safety reasons.

While the HH357 linked above is considered the Rolls Royce of attys, there is no need to spend $22 on one - especially if it's your first. While the HH357 will give you incredible flavor, you do need to know how to break it in properly and may damage it if you don't do things the right way.

I'd recommend picking up a 2ohm 510 dripping atomizer (........ has an amazing deal 5 of them for 8.99 - they are usually around 4-5 bucks each Joyetech 510 Atomizer 5-Pack (2.3ohm) | DigitalCiggz.com )

There's just nothing like a dripping atty for flavor and ease of use. In fact some people just use dripping attys for their daily setup.

Here's a great article about the hows and whys of dripping, courtesy of the Ocelot: Drip, Drip, Drip - The Sound of Dripping

Ideally, you'll use a dripping atomizer - it can be something as simple and inexpensive as this, all the way up to a high-end rebuildable dripping atomizer (RDA). Using a tank/clearo might work, but it won't yield great results, as they're not designed for dripping.

Protank and EVOD are clearomizers where the heating coil is submerged in the tank of juice. They have little silica wicks that wick the juice from the tank to the heating coil where it is vaporized, and you inhale it.

A dripping atomizer is a metal tube with a heating coil at the bottom of it. Some of them are surrounded with metal wool to hold liquid. You drip a few drops on the atomizer down the tube, put a mouthpiece on the end and vape it.

So as the Protank and EVOD are bottom coil devices, and the coil is submerged in the tank, I suppose you can remove the coil from the base, drip a few drops directly on the wicks and coil, screw it back in the tank, screw on your battery and vape it - but first, what a lot of hassle and second, you are asking for flooding / dry hit issues.

Just get a 510 dripping atty - trust me, it'll be a much, much better and more pleasant experience.

how would one drip with an Evod? Is this even possible? Ive also been very interested in this but funds are very very low right now.

Do you mean an Evod battery or a clearomizer?
Yes to the battery and if so, you just need to attach a 510 connection atomizer on the end of your battery and pop a drip tip on the atomizer. All in all it could cost considerably under $10 for the added parts.

how do you drip with a bottom coil clearo? I drip into my vivi novas but thats because the coil is situated under the drip tip, like a dripping atomizer. Idk how you'd really drip with a bottom coil clearo unless your taking the drip tip off each time, even then it'd be annoying. But you can get a vivi nova tank if you want a clearo u can drip into.

Very very well said....I just started dripping with the 510 attys for juice testing but the flavors were so much better that usually while sitting at home, I now prefer to drip and use tanks while out and about!! They are on sale now at dc and just paced an order for back ups for the back ups!!

I think you start with pliers...or a hammer.
