If you have read my other threads, you know im poor. Dirt poor. many people say it, i live it. Hell i cant even afford a $30 vape. (yet.)
So, when a cart goes bad for me.. man.. thats like.. I just lost out. 5 bucks for carts super cheap right? well when you have about $10 extra a month after bills/rent/food/gas, $5 is a lot? So, that puts a huge drive on someone to save things for as long as they can, espishily when they have a desire to live instead of die of lung cancer. Back to the story.

Problem: Dead Cart
Time: Nic-fit-thirty
Flavor: Coffee

So my cart that came with my NicMaxx Smoke ran out. it burned, and stunk something terrible. I had searched and searched for a way to get that burn out and could not seem to do it. Finaly i did get it out, im not sure what i did that got it out, but here are the things that i did.

Flushed it with vodka
Boiled it
Ran multiple cycles of very strong flavor
Flushed it with vodka
Boiled again
Tried the "push everything out of the tube in the middle" method (though i could not go all the way, my coil seems to be inside of that tube.)
Ran a few more cycles.
Flushed it with vodka
Boiled.

Man, that burned taste was finally gone.. but i had MINIMAL vape production. i would pull on that thing all day and still needed a smoke.. in fact i was bad, smokes a few analogs.. progress -25.

So i begin searching for ways to make more vape production.. was not the battery.. Even for a little battery this thing seems to do the trick quite well. My coil had to be somewhat working.. some vape came right? But then something occurred to me. My juice was thick as could be. Nicotine coffee tar. Ayup. Thats right, the morning brew. This stuff is so thick that my glass jar i keep it in, does not run when turned upside down. it SLOWLY creeps. think...molasses. So, at this point, my atty was heating up, my vaper was coming out, but only in tiny amount.. and i was killing battery's before i could get satisfied!! (withhold all nasty comments, no pun intended.)
So, i began to look into my cartos.. it had to be the stuffing.. my wick was going dry, my stuffing still black, (like i said, Nic Coffee Tar)
Lotsa heat, no vapor. So i started looking arounf for something to restuff it with. I tried this with an old cartomizer i had bought but i managed to uh.. ..rip the coil out and throw it away. Well not this time. So i searched, and searched, and searched, and ate a sandwich, and searched. Then the teabag idea had i stumbled across.. but this did not seem right.. so i modified it!

Instead of one piece jamed in and GL woohoo lets vape.. i decided to do many, many small toothpick sized pieces, frayed like no tomorrow, all facing the coil. After using one teabag, careful planning, a pair of scissors, and three band aids and a tube of antibiotic, i got it. No i didint cut myself. the band aid and antibiotic is a lie, like the pie.

At the end of all this i have found my flavors are about 50% better suited for a coffee addict.. my nic is working GREAT.. lots of vape for a little battery.. And a much happier wife who is not refusing to make sandwiches due to my smoking habit. Win win win. :vapor:

EDIT: this was a regular teabag, not a pyramid

I appreciate your efforts but ultimately cartos are disposable things. Even a $5.00 clearo would save you all that hassle, has a coil this is easy to access, clean and replace, and costs less to maintain in the long run. A replacement coil that could last for weeks with careful cleaning can be had for had for $2.00 or less. $5.00 worth of wick and wire and you could rebuild your own clearo coils for several months.

smacuser: You have to do what you have to do friend, not everyone is fortunate. You should be very happy if you are, not spite full, but, i wont argue, thats just my two cents. The kindest people I've ever met are the ones who work dirty jobs, hard jobs, and are less fortunate.

Rickajho: Oh indeed! i just havent gotten around to those yet.

Actually only a few drops vodka, but that reminds me! instead of a box fan, another little tip for a desperate cart user, after you boil it, i used a regular old $10 W-mart pump to simply blow them out. the pump was made for air mattresses but one of the fittings matched right up to my 510 (mouth side and screw side)

Cut dry time from overnight to 2 mins

I currently only have 2 carts, its what came with them over a week ago. nasty eh? hehehe.

Not trying to be a jerk but I think I'd buy less vodka and more on new cartos. Take a burnt carto apart and you'll understand why you'll never get it to taste right again. Try to stick with lighter colored juices, they won't plug up the carto as fast as the dark ones. A carto will last longer in a tank because it doesn't ever dry out and burn.

Eh, the vodka is over a year old anyhow. it is used for random crap, not drinking. i would love to have a tank, but as of yet i have not gotten one. I have been looking at the T3S but for the moment im not getting it because all i have is a standard ecig (cig sized) battery. and not 10% posative its 510. (though i think it is, brand is NicMaxx) And because i dont got the funds to get it yet.

The T3s I had were eGo thread. To get a good start on vaping it's gonna cost ya some money up front. I'd say what ever you were spending on cigarettes should go to vape supplies to get yourself set up right. The NicMaxx site looks like one of those over priced KR808D sites. 510 is the most popular connection type by far. I spent a lot of money my first year and still saved $1200 compared to smoking. I had to make the switch from 808 to 510 too. You could save a lot by making the switch early. If there's a brick and mortar store near by think about a eGo twist/Vision spinner set up with two batteries to start. A couple low resistance clearo or carto tanks, charger and juice and your set. It'll cost more to buy local than online but you'd have your starter kit and start saving money. If you want to order online look for something like this:

eGo-C Twist w/ CE5 Ultimate Starter Kit

Don't forget e-liquid: E-Liquid - Tobacco Flavored PG Based E-Liquids - MyFreedomSmokes.com
