Drives me nuts

Having to log in over and over and over again in here is driving me insane. I like to have a window open all the time but if you aren't constantly surfing in here and come back 1/2 hr later (or whatever) you have to log in again to post.

There should be a check box right under your sign in as an auto sign in thing (I'm not good at technical terms). Once you check that box to log you in automatically you should never have to log in every visit no matter how long since your last session

What Lori said, plus you need to make sure your browser isn't clearing your cookies every time you shut your browser down. Do these two things, and you won't ever need to log in manually again!

Depending on your browser you can also get password minder plugins. There are several for Firefox, and the newer versions of Internet Explorer have it built in. I think Chrome can do it as well.

I would be nice, I mean, use the BE thread for example... Read though that, then go to post... boom took you too long, and now have to sign in and post... pain in the ........

All I see there is a "Remember Me?" checkbox. I've never known those to do anything.
I do have Firefox set to remember my password, so that all I have to type in is the "y" in yo vapo, and the rest goes pretty quickly. But still... I haven't figured out why I get logged out when I go off on a tangent (follow a link) for a while. This doesn't happen on other forums.

Although I'm very technically inept with computers it could be that the "remember me" box won't work if your computer's internet and privacy settings are set so that it erases cookies right away. Like what vise had said

Hmm... Well, I just looked and it's not set that way. It says it only erases "third party" cookies. But still, thanks. Your suggestion makes me want to dig a little deeper.

EDIT: It DOES appear as if "Remember Me?" survives my going off somewhere following external links.
