Sorry I know this was discussed before but I couldnt find the thread. Can and/or should you Dry Burn a Rebuildable Clearo? I have a bunch of the extra atomizer/wick heads for my clearos but im just looking to extend the life of the ones I'm currently using. They still hit pretty good but I dont get that crackle sound when I fire the barrtery so im wondering is it because of that gunk that might build up on the coil? My Clearos are the Smoktech Redux btw.

Works for me i have clearos and vivi's that are over a month old. I soak in alcohol, wash out good, and take the little silicone cap off and dry burn on lower voltages. Just heat until you see the individual coils glow red. Not orange hot and not a big glob of red. Heat until you see the individual coils.

I have found that the best way to get the longest life out of clearo's is to rinse them out with hot water before each fill, dry them out for about ten minutes and then do about 4 -5 10 second dry burns letting the coils cool about 30 seconds between each burn. I have heads that have been going for two months with no sign of trouble. Sometimes the wicks won't dry completely and it takes a bit for the juice to wick properly but a few good draws and your good to go again.

... and no longer sizzling or emitting 'smoke'!

+1. When they are smoking, they are burning the residue (gunk) off the coil. When they quit smoking, that means the residue is burned off.

I always rinse mine off again after dry burning. I suppose most people do this, but it's worth mentioning.

Yep, always rinse after a dry burn.

Forgot to do that one time and it tasted like wet dog for the first half of the tank. I hope I never do that again... :D
