Hey yall so I'm new to this forum but I've been vaping for over a year. I have a mini tfv4 and I noticed a burnt taste. I called my boyfriend to ask him whats up since I'm new to using a tank and he said to put juice on the coils. I did that (left it on the mod so it leaked, silly me)
and it still tastes a teensy bit burnt. Is this really bad for you? Also what can I do to fix this burnt taste?

If you are vaping coils you built yourself you need to change the cotton and burn off any gunk on the coils.
If you are using factory made coils where all you do is screw them in and put juice in and vape, then you need to change the coil. Once the burnt taste gets in them you can't get it out. If you catch it immediately on the factory coils and turn down the watts then maybe you can save it. But if you keep using it, the taste doesn't go away until you change coils and clean out the tank and drip tip. If its really bad you need to soak the tank and drip tip in alcohol. Vodka should do it.

As long as it still taste ok and it is not leaking it should be ok. Just keep watch to catch it when it starts to leak so you can change the coil.

what do you mean by leaking? Like the juice comes out of the sides?
If you pick up your mod/device and it has juice all over it, then that is leaking. Unscrew the topper from the battery and look to see if any juice is outside of the tank. Believe me you know when its leaking. You don't want it to leak, its a mess.

Thank you so much for all your help! One more question, you've been so helpful!!! Why does leaking let you know to change the coils?

I found a little bit of juice on the bottom of the topper, but its also a dripper so you can take the top thingy off of the coil part so maybe juice got down that way?

The cotton in the coil has become worn out and cannot hold onto the juice like it did when it was new.

Just keep a watch on it. If it becomes too frequent or more than a drop then I would change the coil and inspect the o-rings to ensure a tight fit. As long as you maintain your equipment it will last a long time.

with the dripbbox 60w... I'd change the cotton every 3 to 6 days depending on juice you're using(sweet and darker juices will gunk things up faster). like SS says, cotton can become saturated to the point you can add juice but it's a no-go. whenever I change the cotton on any of mine, because I use rebuilds, I also burn off the junk and clean my coils to go with the fresh cotton. coils on rebuilds can last an amazing amount of time, it's almost always the cotton that kills the flavour.. either being saturated or getting burnt. with tank juice though.. burning the cotton can taint the whole tank of juice sadly.
