That perty much sums it up. It happens frequently. Ill juice up my rda, take 2 to 3 hits and then get dry hit. Open up my rda and find juicy cotton.
my equipment now days is a segelei 100w plus regulated mod runn8ng at 35w, 7ohm dual micro coil build on a Plume Vail.

An6 comments on why it keeps happening when my cotton is still juicy?

And another thing,
im not getting much flavor out of my juices. I am using itc vapes juice at max vg. I used to get much more flavor but not much now days. After 2 to 3 weeks steeping its just not the same as the first batch i bought. And this time i bought the 240ml bottles. Not just testers.

Any help please.

As others have suggested, it sounds like a wicking issue, either leave more time between vapes (to allow the liquid to reach the center of the wick) or use less wick to help increase the juice flow.

You might also want to try using a non-microcoil (a spaced coil) as with a spaced coil you don't get the concentrated heat at the center of the coil so are less prone to this kind of thing happening.
I am currently using a single 0.4ohm spaced coil at 45-60W with no issue.

On the flavour issue, in my experience, the larger the bottle the longer it takes to steep. You might want to decant some of it into a smaller bottle (after shaking) to see if that helps reduce steeping time.
There is another reason, but it will depend on how the manufacturer makes their liquids, depending on whether they mix by weight or by ml or drops you will get different levels of accuracy when measuring the components of the e-liquid. These (in)accuracies will be magnified when increasing the batch amount. (most accurate is by weight)

I used to wrap my coils around a 1/16" bit. I changed that up to wrap around a blunt tip needle making the coil a tad larger and the dry hits decreased a lot. Also, I use a bottom feed RM2 atty and the placement of the coil up or down also makes a difference for me. I can experience what tastes like dry hits....move my coil up a mm and the vape is much better. It is so amazing how the placement of the coil can affect this. Also as mentioned, usually less cotton is better.

I am almost sure your wick is being choked by the coil. If it is tight getting in there, the fibers are too compressed and that reduces the wick's wicking capabilities dramatically. Fluffy and light, and if you can slide it through the coil with light resistance, it will work better

+1

This is the resolution to your issue.

Ok, I have to ask. Is your build 7 ohm or 0.7 ohm? lol

I too, have a Plume Vail and find it lacking in the flavor department. I did adjust the coil height so it could be seen in the air hole, used just enough KGD cotton for it tails to touch the bottom of the deck and be able to be pulled without moving the device then, closed the vent about a third. This did help with the flavor somewhat.

I don't know much about cotton as I use Rayon myself (I'm allergic to something in standard cotton). But I remember this from a while ago, to figure out the speed at which your cotton is working is easy. Juice it up, with cap/top off dry fire it, see how fast your coils re-saturate. Obviously factor in your wattage for your findings, a higher wattage and a micro coil will require some near instant saturation to keep up with that system. I've personally never gotten the "Pro's" hang of it really but it takes practice and a lot of patience just as anything else.

On a good note you'll never be without wicking material since cotton is at every CVS and Wal-Mart in the planet I think. Its a really good material to stuff in your wallet as well for the "Emergency repair kit"... if you don't have one then I'd get one, never know what may happen and when :).

This Video does a great job of showing how to prepare the wick. I use my form of this method and it has been a major plus in vape quality

Wet fluff of the cotton does not equal wet cotton INSIDE the coil. Too much or too little cotton will result in burnt dry cotton in/on the coil and wet cotton outside the coil. The size (ID) of the coil, won't matter if you are still using the wrong amount of cotton. Bigger id just allows for more cotton. MORE cotton does not always mean better wicking, just MORE capacity for wicking. Too muck wick for the heat range of whatever coil you build will result in flooding and choking.

Nice vid. He uses a lot of cotton. Big coils too. Ive found that i thought the lesser amount of cotton was the answer but it wasnt. Cotton still was wet and i wss still getting a dry hit. Ive now started using the japanese cotton and it seems to keep up with my chain vaping.

I might go back and give that vid wicking process a try later. It looked nice and seemed to hold a lot of juice.
