My setup is and xCube 2 running at 60w with a single alien coil running at .27 in the Pharoah rda by RiP trippers. I had this problem with my last wick, looked up a solution, and it said I had too much cotton, so I rewicked with a lot less, there's not much resistance when I pull the cotton through the coil. My vape hit and stayed wicked for a lot longer, but I tasted a dry hit, went to go re drip, and the cotton is still super wet, i don't know what the problem is.

If you search thread titles for "dry" and "wet" you'll see that you are not the first to have experienced this problem. Often it comes down to simply too much or too little wick stuffed in the coil. If you've checked for hot legs/hot spots and they are indeed heating evenly, about all you can do is pull the wick and do 'er over. "If at first you don't succeed..."

MORE COTTON! once you cut it fluff the ends up real good....

Sometimes when you don't use enough cotton and pull it through but then pull it back again so it's not all bunched up on one side it can create a pocket of very little cotton in the center that can dry out asap.. Use more cotton... Enjoy the vape..

If you put a bit too much cotton in a coil you'll get an 'off' flavor for a bit. I've found that after a little while it corrects itself, kinda like a break-in period. The up side is sometimes it seems this setup lasts quite a while before you need to dry burn and re-wick.

If you put way too much cotton in there you'll get dry/burnt hits pretty quick.

A bit too little cotton and it will vape well but not for long.

Way too little cotton and you'll be back to dry/burnt hits.

You said you re-wicked with a lot less cotton. You may have moved from too much to too little. There's a happy medium in there that may work well for you. Then again your build might be a bit off for some other reason. A couple of pictures of it could really help us with that.
