Hello all I am having a problem with some recipes I am trying. I am getting this dry taste on my tongue, the only way to explain it is like the after taste of some nasty dry red wine. I dont get this with the juice I'm buying. Another question I am making small 5 ml batches, I am trying to be accurate but how do measure .05 one drop with a syringe, I keep getting air bubbles. The only thing that removes the dry mouth is sweetener which at 1% is too strong have to dump it. I know I could make a bigger batch but I have not made anything i like yet so I am trying to start small. I am mixing 50/50 0 nic. Maybe its me who knows.

Have you tried vaping just your VG and PG, each by itself?

Regarding test batches, the smallest I do is 10 ml.

I have not tried my vg or pg by itself.
test batches I am just being cheap I guess Ive tried about 5 recipes and I didnt like any so I didnt want to waste but what have I got to lose.
I have read your blogs hoosiers and dannys maybe I need to revisit.

A "Dropper" would be ideal to get the one drop :) Easiest way to do these small test batches is a 100 drop test, 1 drop = 1%, makes roughly 2.5-3ml. As for the "Dry Mouth" I am currently getting it on a juice I made last night, it is most likely missing a cream flavor. Creams at low percentages do not make things taste like cream, but rather add depth to your primary ingredients and remove bad lingering tastes.

What the previous post was suggesting was to vape just the base with no flavoring to see if the base is the issue. Higher PG bases will cause more dryness then higher VG bases. You need to get the base formulated correctly before you start adding your flavors. Read my blog on harshness (Dryness). You may need to go to 70 or even 80VG on the base. Make 10ml test batches so you don't waste materials. There are also ways to fine tune a base with saline. My blog will explain all this. While your at it read my other blogs there's a wealth of information there.

A thought if it doesn't turn out to be your base. The dry sensation you mention from red wine is a result of the tannins contained therein. Have you been mixing tobacco flavors? That would explain a lot. Wine tasters (and unknowingly amateurs who use the inappropriate cheese) know that dairy products offset this feeling. Perhaps try some sweet cream type of flavor to counteract this? I'm not yet a DIYer and don't play one on TV. Just speaking off the top of my head here.
