I've been vaping for over a year and just recently started making my own liquids. I'm still making a 50/50 blend but now I have constant dry mouth and am thirsty all the time. I've never had this problem with store bought liquids. Has anyone had this happen or can recommend a solution besides the obvious of drinking more water? I vape more at night and really don't like getting up to use the bathroom several times once I go to bed. Thanks!

I know adding a couple stops of saline solution with make the vapor a bit more moist. I add it to a couple of my drier tobacco DIY vapes. You can use the pharmacy sterile saline solution or make your own. I found directions on the Internet on how to make it. Works pretty well!

I normally experience such dry mouth if i mixed more pg in my juice.50/50 blend help me a lot on handling this matter. But higher vg make it more 'moister'. It could be subjective to every individual.

Once in a while i prefer to have 'sharper' throat hit,so ill keep some flavor in 60pg/40vg blend in my ego case.

For fruity flavor,i dont prefer TOO sweet as it will make me thirsty faster.so i just add a few drops of cooling agent just to make it smoother on every hit.

What is your flavor % total ? and nic mg.
What do you use to calculate and measure with ?
What brand is your pg/vg and flavors ?

I personally love the 5% cooling agent instead of 10%.

Mint, menthol has their own taste that somehow affect the whole liquid.

I added about 0.5-1% to my lime cheesecake to create some ice cream effect and im quite happy with it.

Maybe u can give a try

Do you normally like menthol flavors because I am totally non menthol? Does a small amount still give you the minty menthol taste or just the cooling factor?

If you were OK with vendor juice before, it must be the flavors you are using. That is the only variable I can think of - aside from the quality of nic. Pg and Vg are not much different among brands.

Maybe...I have been working on a good coffee vape so mostly Dark Bean Espresso with different creams. I also use sucralose.

Both pg, vg and nic are hygroscopic, meaning they dry out your mouth... It's worst for me when just having brushed teeths and then vaping, but i'll guess it's because there's glycerin in toothpaste, so you have more of it in the mouth. Many feel it more with pg. With me it's the same pg or vg, but i've just gotten used to it by now...

As said, flavors could indeed also be the culprit, and sensitivity to e.g. pg, or you just have more problems with one type over the other brandwise in either pg, vg, nic or flavoring... Saline or water added helps for some too...

If u asked me,the 5% cooling agent will give the effect of ice cream and smooth when inhale but no note while exhaling. (If it less than 1%)

But on creamy flavor, its good to find your own tune on the % because it can ruin the whole creamy juice.

For eg,i dont really enjoy sweet cream TFA to be combined with my cooling agent.

@ VapinAngel- I noticed the same thing when I started DIY as well. I thought it was the PG, and I have slowly ramped all the way up to max VG in all of my mixes. I still have the issue, though; I wish I knew what was causing the dry mouth. just accept it as I will never go back to store bought juice and will NEVER EVER go back to cigarettes. ;)
