ok, newb here! Learning curve too! I use stainless xl DCC's, they take about 2 ml of juice. Ive just been grabbing new ones when I can tell that the other ones are yuck, waiting to clean them. Problems are as follows...
I top off when 4-6 drops are needed cause I can kind of taste the metal.
when it starts to 'pull hard' there are a couple ml's in there, not good, waste!!
I either should have had some sort of 'marking system', or just try to use a couple at a time BECAUSE...
I got tired of messing with which ones were 'well used', slightly used. etc.
sooo... I threw them ALL in a pot of RODI (I have a reef tank!) water, boiled twice, etc. IMO that was a LOT of liquid to boil away!! Takes 2 ml to fill, top off every12 or so 'draws', gets tight and I clean! Not very economical!! I think, rather than grabbing a new carto all the time, toggle just between a couple so that I know where I am in stages of usefullness! darn, I probably just boiled away 15 ml of juice!! gotta fns a better way!!
MY BAD!!! my post was because I boiled them twice, then put them in a thick sock, tied the top and put it in the dryer with the rest of the laundry!! Will let u know how it turns out!!!
WOW, 47-yrs-old getting WAY off my original topic!!!
