DSE-103: Am I delusional or lucky or...?

@dormouse - Thanks for that info! I've seen 4081 stuff in several places but had no idea!

@Everyone - Wow! Thank you guys so much for the support, truly. I have a person here in my world, a "friend+" who is part of what made me choose to quit. He's been extremely supportive, but many of my other friends, while they are glad I am quitting, either have never smoked and don't understand the big deal, or they are former smokers who don't understand vaping, and I'm too new to fully explain it, especially since they are only marginally interested. There are also a few who are current smokers, and one has expressed interest in a VP. But ECF is the only place where I know there are people who understand what's really going on with me, you know? That's important to me. I'm so glad I found this place!

I've thought about documenting my "journey" on my blog, which would fill the current silence because I'm a singer/songwriter/musician, and this process has not only zapped my focus for the moment, but my sinuses are adjusting and I can't sing. Therefore, I have not posted anything new over there in a while except for the notice that I'm trying to quit smoking and things will be quiet for a bit. I just don't know if I'm ready to be a vaping advocate yet because while I obviously support it 100%, I'm a bit fragile at the moment to be going up against any opposition that may rear its head. It's something I'm thinking about, though.

@jj2 - If you got through the day on two 102 batts (220mA) then I don't feel quite so delusional about my 103s. Just sayin'... :D

I feel like a legit vaper now - I just blew my first atty. Snap, crackle, pop, and I took the cart off in time to see the spark (and in time to save the cart from getting singed). Only a day old. Grrr. But, now that I know about the RN4081 cartos, seems like a good excuse to try them out, right? And I still have two attys, the stock and one I bought with the one that blew. I was smart enough to get a backup backup.

So the RN4081 is the model for the Njoy NPRO, yes? Figuring out the actual models of all these branded units is helping me sort out what's what. Also makes it easier to find parts and carts and such. I need to make a chart or something. I'll probably turn into a mini nerd and build a stash around my 103. I was considering moving into the 510 world soon but I'm kind of having fun turning my 103 into a hobby for now, especially since I have all these part compatabilities I didn't know about till now.

I ordered some of that Aquaclear foam. It was less than $2 from Amazon. It'll be arts and crafts day when I cut tiny little foam plugs for my tiny little cups in my cartridges. (What? I said I needed a hobby the other night. ;-) )

The DSE-103 / RN4081 were two of my first e-Cigs. That and a Blu.

I loved the size of the DSE-103/RN4081 battery. And the RN4081 atomizer is considered by many, including myself, to be about the best atty Ever made.

I moved away from them though because I needed more battery life. Not because they didn't perform well. That and I wanted to go with a 510 system to try other types of attys/cartos.

I miss them in a way, I sold one and gave one away, because the saize was perfect for a shirt pocket.

BTW - Build your collection around the RN4081. The DSE-103 and RN4081 are the same battery. But the RN4081 is a MUCH better atomizer. You can also get double carts for it.

Doh! That sux. How the heck did it happen? Are they auto batteries and they stuck on or did you run 'em dry or what?

Arts and crafts day, indeed. Would make an interesting video tutorial of sorts; those cups are tiny!

Ugh. I lost the first reply I made to this. Let's see if I can recreate my witticisms.

Yes, it sux, and nope and nope. I always prime and never let anything run dry. This particular atty seemed... off to begin with. The wicking was wacky (loves me some alliteration) and the bridge looked a little different than the other one I got at the same time. I guess it's possible that the wick was messed up or not even there at all inside where I cannot see, but I would have thought this atty type with the exposed bridge wouldn't have that much of an issue, being pushed right up against the cart cup and all. Who knows. Attys come, attys go. What can you do? Only the strong survive.

I've decided to pretend I'm making carts for fairies who want to get off analogs. With where my head's been these last two weeks during all of this, it's either this or basket weaving, ya know? And think of the value - with the tiny cups, that 30gal block of filter foam will make more filler plugs than I will probably EVER need. We will have colonies on Mars before I use that up. I might move there myself. But only if they have honkytonks and hot men, and if I'm allowed to vape, of course.

Maybe I will make a video tutorial - but for fairy carts. You're probably starting to realize that I'm just the kind of girl who would do such a thing. I might as well, since I can't sing right now.

That caught me completely off guard, and I choked on a huge hit of DIY chocolate hazelnut! LOL
My daughter would probably love to help out, as soon as she's done chatting on FB with her Blackberry... When I was 10, I think I still played with rocks or something, I don't remember well...
Hope your sinuses recover soon and sing ur heart out! -P1NkY

Edit: If you DO make that tutorial, let me know. I have a backup M402 kit I would like to try to refill; but. they're. so ... TINY!

LOL I just pictured a little girl helping me then stopping to check her messages on the BB, then going back to conversing about fairies. :) And yes, I will let you know if I make that tutorial. I think I may have a shortcut method that will work, but I won't know till the foam gets here on Thursday.

Oooh - good news! The atty I thought I fried wasn't toast after all. I guess the "spark" I thought I saw was burn-off or something. It's working fine, clean vapor and no burnt taste or smell. I'm dripping with it now, though I'm kind of paranoid that it will quit working any moment, but so far so good. I'm so glad, because I had been using that one with my custom juice, which is extremely strong in taste/smell and hard to completely clean out, so I wasn't wanting to "assign" on of the other attys to it. It's awesome juice, but it needs its own gear. Life will be easier when my cartos get here. (They shipped today!)

(Don't know why I felt the need to post that. Guess I'm in a "sharing mood".)

Edited to add: Forget the part I greyed out - It just died, for real this time. *cough* *blech*
