DSE 801 - Problem with atomizer connector

Hi everyone, question I’m sure has been asked many times. I have 2 DSE801 SLB atomizers and two both failed after 1 day’s use. From searching, I am all but positive the little cylinders with the hole in it needs nudged up a bit. I’ve been able to nudge it up “a bit” (just before I feel I’ll break it off entirely), and it just recedes back to the lower point. I know from visually comparing with a working atomizer, both are simply recessed too much.

I gather from my search that the battery charger is what caused this? Evidently, I screwed them in too tight. So, anyone have this problem, and does anyone have any suggestions (other than not screwing them in so tight to the charger, I know that is coming!). I also probably don’t need a voltage meter at this point since I can “see” what appears to be the problem. No?

A multimeter would confirm if they are good or not.

Try the Staple mod in the modders section of ECF. You can use any bit of wire at hand. This will verify if the atomizers are working and if the problem is due to lack of contact between the center conductors.

I used an actual staple and screwed in a battery, and....nothing. Then I tried it on the other atty, and the battery heated up real fast. That doesn't normally happen. So I unscrewed it pronto, and ....I'm now less one battery LOL. OH well, had to try something. Still an excellent mod idea!
