Hi all, I have been lurking around for here for awhile and decided on the 801. I received it today and here are my issues. First, I don't get that much vapor and what I do get makes me cough like crazy. I am using 18 mg liquid. Is that too strong? The flavor is just barely discernable. I bought the kit and extra atomizers, batteries, and cartridges from Eastmall. I can't wait to get really going on this.

Hi datarat, I had the same problem with my 801, didn't like it, sent it back for another one and same problem so I gave it to a friend about 2 weeks ago. I bought a joye 510 from awesome vapor and really like it, produces alot of vapor but theres some learning curves to vaping such as you need to wait around 15 seconds or so between drags if you draw it till it hot, it has to cool down a bit. As for the throat hit I like the 18 and 24 nic, you will have to try others and see. My friend will be by tomorrow with the 801 and I and Iwill see if it is working better after vaping being vaped for awhile, should be a good test. As for favoring what I've bought seem to be a little weak on taste but not bad, you might want to look into buying some favoring and adding to it. Awesome Vapor has a great little sample pack but i think it only comes in 18 nic. I buy from Tasty Vapor and Awesome Vapor I like them both. It's kinda of a trial and error thing until you find what you like. Good Luck....I will post back about the 801 tomorrow.

I like using the 801's on my 5v mods, not on 3.7. I get really good vapor and throat hit. The 801 does take a little time to "break in"... that's just my opinion. I'm still trying to get use to a 510 and 901. Now, I'm also going to try the 302, which is pretty much the same as the 801 but I think it is made for higher volts, from what I've read. I just wish the attys lasted longer... can get pretty expensive after a while.
Good luck.

Hey Datarat,

I love my HV 801 Atty's there all I use to vape with now. I agree with donnellyk, they have a break in period and warm up, the primer in them is also not to good tasting, I puff mine for about the first cart full almost. however I found they seem to last me forever and I get more fill in these carts than any other and more taste at 5-7v. if you hang in there a bit and really give it a fair try you might stick with it, I have, though I do like my 510 at 3.7 but still use my 801 also.. my 2 cents woth

The coughing isn't likely from the nic level but more of getting used to vapor in general - take small drags and open your mouth and inhale some air to help dilute it at first - later you'll be deep dragging ;-)

The 801 and 901 do much better on fruit, berrry, and the lighter flavors in my experience. Not so good on the stronger flavors, although RY4 does well on the 801. The stronger flavors need more heat to enhance them - 510 atty or an 801 mod battery. It is a much cooler vape than any other atomizer I've tried but I love my Black Currant and RY4 on it. Menthol can be good too as well as vanilla, coconut black raspberry, apple, etc.

Is your atomiser low or high bridge? (Is the mesh wick far down or high up in the chamber?) People have had probs w/the high bridge ones. I get TONS of vapour w/my low-bridge. Wouldn't use anything else. If you're using a cart, make sure it is saturated - 801 carts can take up to 30 drops of juice. And yes, like the others have said, there's a break-in period. Do put several drops of juice on the bridge to prime a new atty at first even if you are using a cart. Hope this helps!
