Has anybody experienced batteries going dead rather quickly with the dse 905. I've noticed that this device tends to flood the switch area. As a matter of fact the led ring no longer functions. I wonder if flooding caused that as well. But I really wonder why this thing is discharging bats so quick.

Had an older version of the dse905 for a couple of days before they went to their permanent home as gifts. It's a finicky little device lol. When they first came out, they had a big problem with turning on by themselves. I contacted a vendor and asked him about the problem. He said they were sending lots of them back due to this problem. One way to know if it is doing this he said, was to put the battery in upside down, and if it still works, you know you have a defective device. It could be another issue as well. Neither of the two I got as gifts lasted longer than two months or so. One died completely, the other just kept turning on, and popping atty's. I hate to tell someone to get another PV, but in this case, if they have not improved the product I would think it's probably not going to last you very long. Sorry. I hope I'm wrong, and that it last for years. But with my experience with them, it just seems likely.
You're correct. This is not a durable pv. The device is susceptible to flooding. The electronics are not sealed resulting in apparently a short. I would not recommend this pv. I like the feel of it so I'm going to get a Trog which has a mechanical switch. Thanks for the reply.
