2 left now. 6 months guarantee too. I'm guessing that they'll have either adapters or other models - 510/801... If I wouldn't have just received a protege, I would have considered one.

LOL LOL LOL ..........I am in the same boat....But still waiting to receive mine as of today...But i will not cancel the order, since there is no reviews at all about PV as of today...So i think i will just wait for my protoge, and draw my conclusions later on down the road...........

I don't know if anyone cares but I got a couple new batteries and they make the SD with 901 work much better than any of the ones I got with it. The ones I got with it were a year old but not all had been used so go figure.

Glad to hear you got your ScrewDriver working .

The batteries may have been stored some where hot, or they may just have not been very good from the start.

It is best to store these batteries partly charged (not fully) and in a cool place.

    Somewhere between here and there
Keef, thanks for the advice on the batteries. I do need to get some more for back up. It is ok to just store them like you get them still wrapped?

Also, Danny C, I wonder if there is a reason they are unprotected? I don't run anything except the protected ones if I can help it.

I was pretty excited about this. The mod is cool (and so is their stick clone) but the chance of getting adapters outside of the US was the real draw. Unfortunately they don't make 510->901 or 510->801 adapters. :/

They do make 510 to 901 adapters I just bought some they come in packs of at HG
They are like a bag of golden or silver Bolts, BIG Bolts.

actually sorry, if you are talking about the 905, Don't really know... but the stick mod isn't a clone it is made by Joye and re-named by Janty

What the Hell man these guys cheated me they did NOT say (510 bat to 901 at) at first I thought it was the other way around.....god.... whatever I will see how they work but why in the world would I ever screw the batt and atty like that? to enjoy a 7 second cutoff? lol

what-ever..I guess in EXTREME Situations it would be good like if I happened to ONLY have 1 DSE battery and 1 510 atty that worked and then that golden bolt thing would be my savior but I really hope it will never come to that..

Yes just store them still wrapped is fine.

Some people in warmer countries keep them in the fridge , I am in Scotland and my hall is like the South poll so I have never needed a fridge.

I also have never used protected batteries and have not managed to blow any up :D

Dont carry them or store them with anything metal - Keys Change etc in your pocket .
I did manage to get one to hit deep discharge - short out - doing this ( took me 9 months ) , all it did was get very hot, the wrapper peeled off , acrid smell, some white powdery stuff came out the vent holes but no explosion .

No one as far as I know has managed to get one to explode in a SD.
The spring inside will melt before it goes kaboom .

You will only get the spring to melt if you have a faulty atomiser .

If using a Nano to charge them -
Accidentally put the battery in the wrong way - charger turns off so does the light.
Put in the right way - light red , when it turns green it is charged and switches off .

P.S. put it in the SD upside down.....
9 times out of 10 it will work, may be harder to screw closed all the way ;)
1 time in 10 nothing will happen.

Unlike the 905 which will blow the chip 8-o

The reason why they are unprotected in the original SD MK 1 - they fit the body.
Protected ones are slightly larger - if you buy them it will be a good idea to take care when screwing shut as either, it wont always shut 100% or it can put pressure on the switch and spring.
