DSE801 Compatability?

I have lost all my atomizers in the last day. One minute they work, the next they're dead. And one is less than a week old.

Yikes. How many attys? Do you use carts, top with liquid, or drip? Are they going 'supernova' on ya and frying or just going cold?

Almost sounds like a battery issue if they are working and then not working.

I'm getting sick of tearing through hardware with this thing.

Thanks Nate.

Nate--what type of battery are you using for a power source. I have found that when I burn though two atomizers like that in a short time span it really was the battery getting stuck on and I was not aware of it. So be sure to watch it. Since I have been using a MOD, my atomizer failure rate has dropped significantly-------Sun

My atty's are just fine... haven't had a single death in over 3 months now. (knock on wood!) Just trying to help v-v figure troubleshoot. Think you're right on about the battery issue, Sun... I was thinking cleaning cycle or stuck switch myself.

I primarily use the passthrough, not the batteries. And I use a teabag wick, I don't drip at all.

I should say, one atomizer died after it got dropped, so I'm sure something got jarred loose. The other three just went cold. So I have one that barely produces, and that's it.

I just ordered MORE, as I can't justify picking up a new style right now, then I'd need new batteries, atomizers, etc. Sigh.

Is the passthough an Auto--because that is what my issue was with going though 5 in one week?---Sun

Should I be soaking these atomizers more often or what??

Sigh. Well, I hope they ship quickly. This sux.

Honestly, my best performing attys have required NO special treatment. When I used to clean them, I actually killed more from cleaning than while vaping. I've killed 7 attys since I started in Dec, all in Jan/Feb, and all were penstyles.(most 4072's) I killed 4 that never made it back after cleaning, and the others I blame on inexperience, natural lifespan, or bad juice. On the few attys that survived cleaning, vapor production was hit and miss; some were better, but some actually seemed degraded.

That said, I haven't killed a single atty since Feb. and haven't done a minute's worth of maintenance. Still rotating the same platinum 801's and a pair of cigars(PS bada bings...). They are still puffing like champs, too. Haven't even had to touch the spares I ordered. The key seems to be keeping the atomizer moist at all times and not overheating them. Keep 2 ready and rotate them if necessary. My rule of thumb is to lay it down and pick up a cold one if I even feel it getting warm. At night, I try to remember to remove the batteries and set them battery-end up to keep liquid from draining into the switches. Some liquids burn hotter and gunk up your atty, but I've not had a problem in that respect with PureSmoker liquid.

I know with all the "cleaning my atomizer threads" on here it would seem counter-intuitive not to clean yours, but I've found that has worked best for me. Not cleaning my attys has $aved me a bundle in replacement costs. They ain't broken... so I ain't fixing them!

I have an 801, and when it's working, it works great. One battery seems to be flighty in that it detects when I drag on it and then all of a sudden it doesn't? The other battery tries to come on all by itself when just sitting horizontally on the table. The other battery (bought a spare with it) works better. The atomizer does seem to run hot on this model, but then it doesn't seem to as much. I think there's an issue in the software and/or with the airflow sensor? My epuffer looks identical, but the batteries are NOT interchangeable. Now the epuffer I've found to be remarkably consistent with the two batteries that came with it. This one likes a weaker, longer draw, but the throat hit is spot-on everytime. I've also found that it's a good idea to keep an eye on the juice in the cartridge and not a good idea to keep vaping until that familiar burning sensation is felt. My epuffer has 5 weeks on it and everything is still fine. I've recently decided to keep the 801 as a backup. HTH

In my experience these 801 atomizers can tend to run hot too. Well, I ordered 2 more, so I think I'll rotate them.

I also might go back to the pesky traditional filler wicking too, maybe the teabag material doesn't keep the coil wet enough.

Thanks again Nate.

What part of texas are you in?? there is alot of members in texas. They may have extra attys
