I just ordered 2 801 passthroughs(One for me, one for my wife). Both of them, well, for lack of a better word, suck.

Vapor production is poor, and the one my wife opened doesn't seem to provide consistent power. The light flickers on and off when being drawn and produces hardly any vapor.

Mine seems to have consistent power(though the light flickers to a brighter intensity intermittently, so maybe I don't...) but still has lame vapor production.

I have tried: 3 different atomizers with each, running them off a powered USB hub, off of one of the powered USB ports on two different computers and also running it off a AC-to usb adapter. The AC to USB adapter doesn't work at all. The others have the same results.

Suggestions?

Sounds Like The Standard Problem Of The Center Pole (electrical contact) Between The Battery and Atomizer Are Not Touching When Screwed Together (Due To Different Lengths & Variances). Assuming You Screwed It All The Way On (Never Crank It, Slight Turn To Touch Only).

Their are Several Posts and Several Easy Fixes For it.

What: You Have To Be Sure Of The Connection.

How: The Center Pole On The Battery or The Atomizer Can Be Gently & Carefully Lifted out a Half MM Or Less!, Don't Twist or Turn It, It Sits in a Silicone Grommet. Easy Way to Do It Is With A Little Metal, Plastic or Wood Pick, Insert In Hole, Gently Wiggle At & Up At 12, 3, 6, 9 O'clock Positions. Don't Over Do It, Just Do Each Spot One! Then Give it A Shot (Meaning Try It Out). Again Very Very Gently! And Don't Turn Or Twist It.

More: That Should Help You!

Other: Use The AC To DC Wall Adapter, Should Be Rated 5 Volts and Must Output 1.0 Amps or Connect To A Powered USB Hub For Best Results

Next: Good Luck And Check The Other Posts!

Good advice. I've never had any problems yet with the passthrough I've tried... but you do have to screw the atomizers on slightly tight or you could raise the contact.

Thanks for the advice, unfortunately, the problem hasn't changed. I did get the pole to lift up some, but vapor production is still low. I tried adjusting it on both the bat and the atty.

The light flickers as well if I suck straight on the passthrough, as well. It also seems to have a cut off that is extremely short. Think I may have just gotten a bunk unit?

Do all the passthroughs have these kinds of problems? I ordered these before I got my 901, and I find I'm like it far more aside from the low battery life.

Edit: I have tried it with the bat screwed all the way down, and also just touch tightened when raising the pole.

These things can be tough to troubleshoot. I got one passthrough that aparently is completely defective. The second one I got, however, is really touchy about what it's plugged into. I tried it plugged directly into a computer USB port, on a powered hub, a car adapter and even a 5V 1A adapter. It only created vapor when plugged directly into the computer, but even that wasn't very good. Finally, before I gave up, I tried it on an old USB hub and it worked. Keep trying different options, you might find one that works.
