Well, I took the eSmoking plunge. ...a huge thanks to everyone around here that truly helped me make my decision. I went with the DSE901 from puresmoker.com, as well as some ejuice and other accessories.

Steve was an incredible help - he shipped same day, answered my questions, and even included a couple of freebies with my order. Thanks, Steve!

I can't wait to try it out when it arrives! Hopefully tomorrow it'll be here and I'll put down the Marlboros for good for a much cooler, safer, techie way to "smoke."

Good luck and welcome to the forum -
Yes if you have a positive attitude these can be wonderful tools - I have been off tobacco since 10/23 went from 4 packs a day to only 3 cigs the next and none since- I can breathe better, I smell better, My car smells better, I could go on and on. These are really gifts from above - If you were a heavy smoker I would suggest getting some 36mg juice - But if you talked with Steve he is GREAT at figuring out what you need to get started.

Pete, I am in the same boat as you. Been reading the threads on here trying to get all the facts. PM'd Kate for direct answers and she was a great help. Trying to read all the Tips and Tricks.

My initial observation is that this can be really complicated. Adding juice, draining cartridges, rebuilding atomizers, etc. I will wait to get my 901 and then start asking questions as issues come up.

Katy at Smokeless.com has been a great help getting started. My wife has quit smoking the old fashion way, going on 2 weeks. I am not as strong and need cosmetic help which I hope the e-cig will provide.

Anyway, wanted to thank everyone for the colossal amount of information provided on this site. I will bookmark and be a frequent visitor and hopefully a contributor later on.

Let me know how it works out for you... I'm sure we'll get the hang of it pretty quickly. I've been reading this forum incessantly since I ordered. I can't wait another moment for the package to come!

Im new to the forum and like many i have tried reading all the posts and learn as much as possible. My DSE901 arrived this morning, totally new at e smoking but also brought a disposable gamucci to use while waiting for the 901 to charge while i was work. I smoke about 20 a day but have not smoked a normal cig since the postman arrived this morning : ) The gamucci did the job while i was at work and the 901 was ready to use when i got home this evening. I think one of the batteries is broken but the other has lasted 3 hours already and me and my partner are using it. It has a really sweet taste and smell and i can smell a slight burning but it really seems to be helping, i may have to raise the nicotine levels tho. I also made a very common newbie mistake and brought a Gamucci mini first (also arrived today), first time i tried it i got liquid in my mouth so not to sure about that : (, I am hoping to make a order for another 901, i may even order two starter sets again once i get a reply on the broken battery from them. I was thinking of starting a web site of a diary of a new e smoker. Explain some of the lingo used on the forum etc... I showed my disposable to some work mates who are also trying to give up and they want to know more so ones i see what the customer services is like i will advise them to go where i brought mine from, going to make a order for a load of liquid too and maybe invest in another good brand mentioned on this web site. The work going into dripping battery charging etc does not bother me infact i see it as a fun hobby.

It's only as complicated as you want it to be Oklahoma. You could just keep buying cartridges and not bother with anything else. I definitely would recommend getting bottles of juice and refilling your cartridges though. It works out a lot cheaper and there are better flavours available.

Pete I forgot to say,

GO CUBS

WGN fan for years.

Next Year BABY! lol...also I got a DSE-901b a couple days ago and I have not smoked real cigs since. My only advice so far would be to get plenty of the juice and another battery and charger would be good too. The batteries last about 3 hours from my experince so far, but it takes four hours to charge them.. I'm a pack a day smoker (or should I say used to be :) .. So having that hour of waiting for the other bat to charge can be a nailbiter... Just make sure you have plenty of power and juice....but I'm still a newbie so....

welcome aboard Ladykara

That slight burning smell is either the cartridge getting Dry which should be avoided or some of the cartridge fibres are stuck on the atomizer bridge.
Be sure to take a peek into the atomizer with good light and pull out any stray fibres of cartridge filling that may have got snagged.

Glad your enjoying it ;)
