If I have a mod built for single 18650 can I add a parallel battery sled and run two 18650 in parallel without any problems? It would still be the same voltage correct?

Errrr... well you have to be carefull never to put the batteries in the wrong way Ever or you get instant short.
Is it a home made unregulated mod?
Check the modding forum, and see what others have built; most times people use mosfets to handle the high current.

It's a regulated mod but I wanted to make a new door for the battery compartment to accept two 18650s in parallel. It already has all the protections for reverse and such. I just figured in parallel it's the same voltage. I know that new istick has two parallel and is able to also run on one so I figured I could do the same with my mod.
Yes it's the same voltage.
Lithium batteries should be treated with respect so if you plan on modding a box, best do it properly.
If using 2 batteries they should be used as a married pair that stay together.
They are currently married in my cuboid mod and are LG he2 at 3000mah.
Note that even if the mod has reverse battery protection it won't protect you if you insert one battery the right way and the other the wrong way. The batteries themselves will short each other.
