Alright, I've looked and not seen any posts with the question I have, so If I am repeating threads just let me know, and point me in the right direction! ;)

I'm not new to vaping, but I'm a total newb when it comes to tanks, mods, ohms etc. I've been vaping for years using my Joye 510 (originally) and then switching to my ego shortly after they came out. I never really had the desire to try mods or new types of cartos, but recently decided to take the plunge. I purchased a VV mod, and decided to grab a few tanks from mv.

My problem:
The tanks work wonderfully for me. I am loving them and it works well on my mod as longs as i keep the settings low. so I decided to share the love with my husband and opened up a new one, filled it, and attached it to his ego battery and... Nothing. It just didn't work. I attached it to my mod, and it fired up and worked likes champ. I figured maybe his battery was dead so I put it on a couple other ego batteries, and still nothing.

So now I am assuming it has something to do with them not being compatible with our ego batteries, but the website says they work great with egos. I'm so confused!

Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Again, sorry if there is already a thread for this.
Thanks!
Wendy

I had to do that with both of the flanged cartos I've used so far. I too use a very small screwdriver on the the carto's center pin and gently pry between the pin and the threads on one side and then the other to get it to pop out about a 1/2 mm further. If you pop it out a little too far (assuming you didn't break anything), no worries since screwing onto to your batt will set it back in and still make connection. Oh, and make sure it stays centered ;)

I never mess with the center pin on my batts (anymore) for the simple thought that the carto would be cheaper to replace if I broke it somehow while doing this... I never messed up any batts, but I don't want to take the chance. I've yet to mess up a carto either (knock on wood, lol). There's plenty of play in the carto pins that you should be able to get them to work with just about any 510 thread.

It's a lot easier to pull up on the battery so I tell people to pull up on it because it's the easiest way..I kind of worried it would mess up a battery too but it hasn't as I've been doing it on occasion to me 3 blem Smok Tech eGo's I got out of the bargain bin for months..I'm sure it's possible to mess it up but every time you screw a cart/atomizer in a battery it moves the pin also..although sometimes with my CE2's I push from the rubber cup inside and it pushes the pin out a little :)

I'm glad to hear about pulling up the tip of the batt. Didn't know that - thanks!

I have found, however, that the tip of the battery, as well as the inner barrel, sometimes get gummed up. This will cause a high resistance connection, or no connection at all. Non-technically this means you won't get enough voltage to the cart and it won't work.

I fix this easily, every so often (especially when the battery tip looks darker) take a Q tip or equivalent and soak it in vodka or rubbing alcohol and clean out the battery. Works great for me.
