I just got some Smoktech 1.5ohm dual coil cartomizers and for the past 2 days, I've been using it exclusively, on all my devices, which includes an Ego style, a variable voltage mod and a GG. I do admit to loving cartomizers for their simplicity, low cost and all around good performance with almost any device, short of 510 style batteries (coz I can't use LR cartomizers on them).

I must shout out loud that I am loving these dual coil cartomizers. Now, I've tried almost every kind of cartomizer type that's available right now, and these dual coil cartos beat all of them flat in terms of flavor, throat hit and vapor, and only at 3.7 volts. Works very well on Ego style batteries. It loves IMR batteries on a mod, and if you've got a variable voltage mod, stick it at 3.7 or 3.8V and you are in heaven.

They take about half an hour to break in when new, but when it starts to kick in.....WOW!! Unlike other cartos I've tried, the flavor maintains at a high level until it gets about dry, then it drops sharply. The drop is so sharp, even a beginner can identify it's time to fill up again. Nice. :headbang:

The only downside is that it takes quite a long time to fill it when you first get it, but it's a breeze after that. It's quite low cost too, and for the price, I can safely buy 3 or 5 of them for the price of an atomizer.

It still doesn't compare to a good atomizer in a GG, but it's done the best job so far among the cartomizers I've tried. Short of dripping, I haven't found anything better.

Thanks to Alvin from Victoria Electronics for showing me this wonderful little carto. I'm loving it.

:toast::smokie:

Note: This is my personal opinion only. Those Malaysians who know me from the Malaysia forum on ECF know that I am not known to say good or bad about any product. But...I just couldn't resist telling everyone about this little gem.

i use G4 cartomizer..vaping much cleaner than cartridge/atomizer but somehow not much vapor(not much vapor to me,is like not vaping hahaha)...i do not know if the carto's atomizer is not working properly or the construction of the carto is faulty, 1 fill of e-liquid last me many days...unlike atty/cart i had to refill..still preferred my cartridge/atomizer to vape..carto temperature when vaping remain luke warm...unlike atty/cart the atty is quite hot & produce lots of vapor..only bad burnt taste if i dont top up when it is due..waiting to use the tank cartridge i ordered from heaven-gifts..this will be better for me,i think..i certainly will not recommend G4 to any1,quite useless my 1st carto experience..regards mafig

You're not getting much vapor most probably due to the low voltages and amps put out by the 510 batteries you use, mafig. Depends also on the resistance rating of your G4s. The G4 does do a decent job if you've got an e-cig that has higher rated mah or a vv mod. The little white cap also irritates me as it just doesn't feel right in my mouth.

The tank carts with your 510-T atomizers should outperform it.

Glad to know you like it....

Oh, I like it, for sure. Seems to work with everything I have, except for the 510s, which are not recommended anyway. I've put about 15 to 18ml through it and it's still going. I'll see if it's worth giving it a clean and dry tomorrow. But....cheap enough to chuck like disposable contact lenses, I think. Let's see how much longer it will go before it gets funky. Will update you on it.

Flavor, throat hit and vapor is much better than those Ego-T tanks, LR and standard, from what I've seen so far. I must say that the performance is quite consistent, doesn't seem to taper off as much like standard cartomizers. No wicking issues at all.

1st time refill should be 2ml.

My experience using it with ego-t battery is, do not refill too much. too wet won't give good vapours.
how much to refill it depends how dry the carto is. you might need to experiment with it. after few refills, you should able to get it correctly for your pv.

However, if you are using VV or HV mods, ahaha.....very different, you should be able to refill more depending on your voltage setting. That's y reviewers said it can work on 6v.

just sharing my experience, what's yours?

So far, pretty good experience, honestly. I don't dare to use it at 6V again, coz I tried it once, and it was too hot for me. I'm not talking about sweating hot. I'm talking about volcano hot. Surprisingly, it didn't pop the carto. 2 drags were all I could force myself to do. The throat hit was off the charts, flavor became non-existent. Vapor.....don't know, couldn't see past the vapor in front of my face.

I think mine gunked already... Don't really know why though but it's really hard to draw now and it's only been 2 days. anyone having this problem? It's really good when it works well though :toast:

@raceengine....Sorry I missed meeting you that night. I went to sleep early as I wasn't feeling well. Maybe next time.

Mine got gunked after about 5 days of continuous use and about 30ml of juice through it. I decided to clean it out yesterday night, by pumping in some hot water a few times, put it into an ultrasonic cleaner which my neighbour has, filled it with hot water, and cycled it a few times. Dried it out, and it looked pretty clean now. Gonna let it dry out for a day or two and come back to it.

After 5 days of use, that's still cheaper than my smoking cigarettes. If I can squeeze at least one cleaning through it and "recycle" it, I think that's gonna be well worth the price, given the performance.

After the cleaning, and about 24 hours of drying, I'm reusing the dcc again. So far, it's working....surprise.

It took about half an hour to really get going, as I think it was still wet with some water in it somewhere. So far, so good.

Additionally, I've found that filling it solely from the top is not going to get enough juice to the bottom coil. One way to fix this is do it like Alvin suggested in the last post. Another way is to fill with a syringe inserted near the bottom. Both ways I've found to work quite well to get the juice to the bottom coil.

While I like the simplicity of filler cartos during my early days, I have moved away from them since because to me they're just not serviceable. All the cleaning methods are just not sufficient. I'm guessing the dual coil cartos last you dragons quite a bit because of the distributed heat as compared to a single coil. Vaping wise, I think filler cartos are better in terms of flavor and vapor than CE2s but they lack the volume and are more sensitive to heat than CE2. However, the reliability of CE2s seems to overcome the suprise 'once burnt, i'm no longer good' saying of filler cartos. It truely is a compromise isn't it? Darn...

Too bad I have chosen Kingera instead of Smok Tech to get the 14500 and 18650 models, if not I surely would have ordered some dual coils for my beginning friends....

Refill methods update 8 Jul 11,

1) Easiest refill method, use paper clip or any stick with 4.5cm or longer, insert into side
of cartomizer until reaching bottom, move the clip/stick to about center (will make a gap),
refill into the gap until filler becomes all wet, 2ml +/-

Some people use 2 paper clips/sticks to make larger gap.
after finish refill, remove clip/stick, the filler will return back to normal position.

2) use syringe inject liquid from bottom carto slowly towards the top of filler

Both methods tested works. Flavour & vapours are far far better than dripping from top of carto which most liquids might not reach bottom coil unless you shake it hard to force liquid downwards.

I personally prefer method 1, too lazy to use syringe,
works great now with my ego battery even entire filler is wet/full.

I remember you said thick juices like US liquids gunk up your CE2 every 2 refills, which means you require to clean it everyday or two. That's very frequent maintenance work.

I have not tried US liquids on the dual coil carto, don't know how much ml does it take to gunk up, but i'm interested to know.

For china liquids, according to jack's post here, it last about 30ml for heavy vapourers before gunk up, same as Joye Ego-T of my experience. But there are also people who able to use for 2 months.
