So here's my latest issue with dual coil cartomizers. The first, I believe, was due to a faulty switch on my e-power which caused a bad connection with some. So I order a new switch (which works much better) and some more dual coils because I like the lung hit. Problem is, these have extremely wimpy vapor, throat and lung hit, and taste. They do, however, get extremely hot so I don't think it's a battery protection issue and the unit works fine with other LR cartos and attys. I do wonder if I am overfilling as I can get about 60 drops with no leaking.

Does anybody have any ideas of what's going on? There is no burnt taste either, but the body gets really hot to the touch.

You probably overfilled them since they normally only take 45 drops. This might explain the lack of vapor but it should be giving you some pretty good flavor. There's also the possibility that you got a dud.

I've also find out that at 3.7V they have sub-par performance BUT, at 5V they work pretty well. I'll be honest and tell you that I'm one of the people that are not a fan of dual coils. If you have the 18650 version than you can get some 4.8 ohm nimh batteries for your e-power. That should give you enough kick to power your DC.

If you eventually find that you feel the same way then my suggestion is the 1.7 XL smoketech single coiled cartos/ "resurrectors". They work incredibly well on 3.7V.

Hey check it out.

I'm new to punching my own cartomizers for tanks and punched one too hard. This is the only one that, like the title of this thread, got really hot and didn't get me much vapor. It flooded my cart over and over because it was wicking without vaping anything despite it getting very very hot.

My theory is that the coils were shorting out on the inside of the casing. This might explain why the whole unit got so hot without the atomizer doing it thing. Mine just gurgled and created some steam from the heat.

If your cart is hot with little vapor, I think it's a dud that has coils that are shorting out. Just a working theory. Check the center wick and make sure it's centered, maybe jimmy with it a bit if it's not. I think the batting being jacked up could contribute to this problem by pushing the coils onto the casing.
