Dual Coil Cartos... whats up with this?

I couldn't resuscitate the first one, I tried.. poor little guy.

I really like the Dual Coils....BUT
So far I have used 5 new ones: all took about 50 drops, and I let them sit for 20-30 min.
(FYI- I did a condom fill for 1/2 and top fill for half. There was no way to get another drop into these.)
juice is 70/30 PG/VG- light color (DIY).

Of the 5-
1 was DOA- nothing but burnt taste from the start, even after a cleaning. Tossed it.
1 was great and still is- out of the box.
2- tasted burnt along with juice flavor, but not that horrible nothing but burnt taste. Cleaned them- and then they were fine.
The last one I just filled, burnt taste along with some juice flavor..... could go either way......

Anyone else having these 'start-up' issues..?
What are the chances I have 2 or 3 bad ones in one box?????

I use SmokTech Dual Coils 1.5 ohm exclusively at both 3.7 volt and 6 volt and only ever had 1 bad one. Are you using dark colored juices? I noticed that my dark juices tend to burn at higher voltage or if the carto is not wet enough. These things get darn hot with the two coils so it's important to keep them wet. Also, try cutting your juice with some distilled water, you maybe having some wicking issues. Once you get the hang of them they are awesome, so awesome they're the only thing I use.

I don't know where you got these but there was some bad ones going around, personally I think they had some poor QC when they where first being made and now it is much better, just my opinion, there where lots of people having the same issue as you where when they first came out but not now. Where did ya get em ?

The ones that I have gotten to work- are 100% awesome... I really want these to be my one carto.

The juice is very light color, and not thick at all. Once a DC works, there is no wicking problems: it's just getting them going without wasting juice,
BTW- I am trying on a Reo Mini (3.7v) and a GLV super-mini (3.7v). These are 1.5 ohm DCs.

"Drops" is not any sort of a measurement. An eyedropper will make far larger drops than the dripper in a 3ml bottle. The dripper in most 60 ml bottles will make larger drops than those in 30 ml bottles. Drippers in bottles collect a bit of juice and tend to plug up a little over time - etc etc etc. Drops is not an accurate measurement.

The DCs hold 1.7 to 1.8ml. 1.5 is enough to get them saturated well enough to operate just fine.

I got both my BogeLR's and DC's about three weeks ago. I wasn't sure they were 4 me bcause they were airey and hot. But I stuck with it and we adapted. Now they are PERFECT.

I'm not sure if there is flux,or primer or manufacturing residue in these, but I've been putting the battery end in a half filled condom and blowing them out. I've read that some folks do their whole cleaning process on the new ones and that works great. Then soak them in juice and let sit overnite.
