If you have a fully built dual coil reading 1.7, it means each coil individually would meter to 3.4 ohms, but since they are in parallel, resistance is cut in half.

Dual coils can usually accept more voltage without tasting burnt (in your traditional dual coil carto), but start at 3.7-4 volts for what you have and work from there.

Think of it this way... with dual coils, you are splitting that power over two coils. So if you are pushing 10 watts, each coil is only running at 5 watts.

So you really have to put the coals to it. A lot of times, you'll see low resistances on mechanical mods as most regulated mods can't go much past 15 watts. Some will see a .8 ohm build and think 'Holy crap, that's like 21 watts!' But it's really only 10.5 w per coil.... Which is quite tame in a RDA.
