I'm building on a Mephisto v1 and I've been doing dual coil builds almost every time. But lately I've been having a problem where one of the coils (always on the same side) isn't functioning properly. It fires up just fine but it isn't working nearly as well as the other.

Now I've tried rebuilding several times to try and fix the problem but it keeps happening. Is there a problem with my rda? Can I did this in any way?

make sure you arent touching the inside of the topcap with your coils.

your problem could be as simple as the screw not tightening down onto your wire properly or the problem coil could have slightly more wire length than the other in which case you could unscrew the neg- post to the coil and move it slightly closer to the post then tighten the post screw back up.

its also worth mentioning that when installing your coil legs to make sure your legs pass through the post as you are tightening you dont really want the end to go down inside the post or that can give you a bad connection.

For some reason I'm the side that is always giving me problems the leg won't stay under the post screw. Is keeps going to the side of it which I realize is the issue. But no matter what I do it keeps doing it.

Is it the post screw that is all jacked up?

alot of the attys now days have huge post holes for the wire which doesnt benefit everyone, some attys like the velocity have a great system where the wire gets trapped against the post by the screw instead of disapearing into the abyss of the post hole, ignore the coils but here is a pic of the velocity to show what i mean..

i have had the same problem as you in the past where the wire wouldnt stay centalized in the post hole so i left extra long legs so i could hold them in position whilst tightening down the post holes. maybe that would help :)

My Mephisto v1 is my number 1 atty. It has behemoth post holes...I think they are 5mm...4mm at least. Like Slippy said, make sure you trap the wire properly underneath the screws and not on the sides. With 26g wire or even with 24g, you can also put in 2 or 3 more strands, just at the post holes to get more leverage on your screw down than snip them off. Nothing wrong with doing this. It can create better contact and also avoid snapping wire. I mostly run fused claptons or 22g in my Mephisto. The atty just begs for this kind of build. Good luck!

The atty is great I love it so far. I think there is just a problem with the one post. Planning to get a Mutation X v5 soon

I fixed mine by pulling on the coil and leg at the same time to re-straighten and then lightly screwed the grub down. It seemed to work so far, but the inside of the post may be murdered. I'll have to clean it out and check it next time I need coils...

I pretty much said screw dual coils. I'm just going to do a single parallel build until I get a new RDA. I'm tired of the post not working properly lol
