Dual Coil

I'm still limited to posting here. I got a question concerning dual coils. I can make single coils all day long. No problem. But with dual coils, I'm unable to get the to glow at the same time. I know there is a trick. I just don't know what it is. Any advice will be greatly appreciated

what battery and wire gauge are you using?? a weak battery ( amp supply wise) will not fire off parallel heavy gauge coils

Generally that means that either: 1) one coil has more wraps than the other or 2) a deck screw is loose on one of the coils

Waddle hit the nail also make sure you are using the right battery dual coils draw a lot of juice. The coils need to be the same resistance and they cut your resistance in half so 2- 1.0 ohm coils makes .5 I like dual coils and use them often lots of nice warm thick vapor.

makes a bit of difference.... if its a difference of 10% ( ohm wise) the coils will glow differently

This ^^^, which also means that if one of the coils is a contact coil (wraps touching each other) the other one has to be also. If this is what you're building, fire them without wicks and pinch them a bit to make better contact with no power applied and when they're hot. I use tweezers for this. I find it only has to be done once or twice for each coil and they are matched. Get this right and both coils will fire the same with no hot leads.

another thing to consider... after installing new coils, its a good practice to go back in and retighten the screws after an hour or so of vaping, the wire can soften a tad and make the connection at the screw loose

Sometimes you have to fire it a few times, and they "even out".
I've found, surprisingly, that if I squeeze one with tweezers, then that one glows slower the next firing, but soon catches up and they even out (I actually expected the reverse - that the fresh-squeezed one would glow faster, as the squeeze might lower the resistance a touch).

Honestly, I aim for equal wraps, but I DON'T have a way to check that second coil's resistance by itself - so I'm just HOPING they're pretty close. And they both light up together...except for that time when one didn't have a good connection.

So, yeah - fiddle a little with 'em, and check the screws, etc.

was it loose screws? That was my issue. I crank them really tight now.
