Hi guys,

I've been using dual twisted coils but wanted to try my hand at building dual fused Claptons. Looking for something with quick ramp up time, around .2 to .3 ohms, using the wires that I currently have on hand. The coils will be going into a Griffin 25 plus tank.

I currently own: 24g, 26g, and 28g spools of kanthal for the core. Also have a spool of 32g nichrome which will be the wrap.

What combo do you guys recommend to hit my target? (wire gauge, number of wraps, diameter, etc.)

TIA!

I use SS for my fused Claptons, my go to is 30x2/36 at 0.2 ohms. SS is more responsive and a cleaner/crisper taste.
Dual coil, two strand 28G core, 2.5mm internal diameter, 6 wraps. With the outer wrap should come out to around 0.3 ohms. If know if you are using a regulated device then the resistance of the coil is unimportant?

Coil wrapping
Not so, resistance is still important with a regulated device.

Why? Mass and surface area is, resistance isn't. There are some considerations regarding the mods limits and small efficiency gains in respect to the regulater chip, but other that...
Heat generated and maintained plus ramp up and cool down, basically responsiveness.
