been vistiting this site for a while. and decided to give this a go. 3 pack a day chain smoker so why not. i ordered dse-901 with carts, bats, juice, etc. (see watched all the videos).

pros-
haven't smoked analog since i got this. (so must be working)
have had no side effects. (sore throat, dry mouth)
sinus' much better

probs-
1. concerned about how hot the atmoizer gets. i don't want to burn it out.
2. i know its a learning thing. but sometimes i draw and get lots of vape and great throat hit. then draw again and nothing. wait a few. try again may get good maybe not. i know its how i'm drawing on it. but getting frustrated. and i don't think its bat or atomizer or carts. can just leave it alone for a few and try again and its great
3. am constantly using the dang thing. i know its more of me playing with it than really using it. but keep trying to find the right way to do it so i get good vape and throat hit. (yes, watched all the vids)

so i know everyones had this prob. ok well maybe more than a few. so spill the beans. am i going to cook my atmomizer and more importantly how the hell to do it right.

Your 901 should be fine for starting out. You can always try different devices once you get the hang of it.

What I do with my 901 is this:

A quick 1 or 2 primer puffs - gets it warmed up.

A nice, slow long drag - produces good vapor.

Maybe a second long drag in quick succession after the first if I really want a really good hit.

Keep the cart topped and wet. Don't over do it or you might flood the battery. I usually vape it down till I need add 4 to 6 drops. How long it takes to get to that point really depends on the liquid I'm using and how frequently I'm vaping. You'll figure out your own timing and amounts by how much you're vaping, etc.

You can also drip... but that's another story better told by someone else because I rarely do it. Though I do sometimes especially if I'm trying out different flavors.

As previously stated, you're allowing your cart to run dry. Topping it off should resolve the problem.

In my opinion, the material that holds the e-juice is the weak link of vaping as one often gets results like you described. I've found that teabags (the bag that tea leaves come in) deliver e-juice much more consistently than the material that's currently in your cart.

am constantly using the dang thing. i know its more of me playing with it than really using it. but keep trying to find the right way to do it so i get good vape and throat hit.

Part of that is the novelty of having a new toy to play with. That will wear off soon enough. If you're anything like me, though, you're not gonna rest until you get the dang thing to perform the way you expect it to.

Once you get around to trying different e-juice flavors, try the "tea bag method" of refilling your cart. Discovering this is a source of great relief for me because after several weeks of owning an e-cig, I finally get consistent performance (satisfactory vapor, throat hit, etc) each and every time.

I can just sit back now and enjoy my vaping experience.

Topping does not keep the atomizer from getting hot. However it is still true that the atomizer needs to stay moist while used. These are two separate issues.

It's quite likely you have the RN4075 version of the 901 mini style, which simply runs hot and goes through a lot of juice. And it will get hot even if you top regularly and properly. Many of us keep more than one atomizer active for just this reason, so you can set down the hot atomizer and pick up the cool atomizer. My understanding from other suppliers and users here is that running them hot shortens atomizer life, so it's best to set them down when they are hot and allow them to cool.

thanks everyone for the quick feedback. but the more i try it the more i think its just the learning curve thing. right after posting was playing around with it. drawing softer and softer. but still not there yet. have more atomizers coming in by friday so religously taking care of this one.

Yes, treat it nicely!!! Happy vaping! :)

new atomizers, bats, and usb passthrough arrive today. couldn't wait. switched out the first atomizer for a new one. BOOM. lots of vapor and got the throat hit i was looking for. prob got the metallic/plastic/gag-me-to-death taste. ok. but an improvement. so switched to another atomizer. AND FINALLY. GOT THE TASTE, THE THROAT HIT, THE LUNG HIT. yay!!!!!!

prob 1
obviously problem with original atomizer. not sure wat. it was not vaping right for some reason. not dead. still gets hot, but not producing like new ones.

prob 2
1st new atomizer is great besides the taste. Sooooooo many different opinions as to how to fix. anyone have one that fixed itself. sounds dumb but wat i mean is the primer just burning itself off after awhile. if not and i'm sure opening a debate here how to fix the prob.
