Hi I have been vaping only for almost 2 week on my ego T. And so far, vaping still preventing me from smoking a single analog. Yesterday tried dripping and loved it. Some dumb questions to ask:

1) When I use dripping method, the first few vape is full with flavor and has plenty of vaper, after awhile I still gets lotsa vaper but flavour dies down. Is that normal? cos I watch some utube juice reviews, they seems to get quite alot of flavor still after a while.

2) I am quite confuse with throat hit, is it the slight burning feeling in the throat sometime can gets abit choking if inhale too much? Wanna make sure I am not enjoying something I am not suppose to ( coil/wick over burn smell)

3) What's the difference between dry hit and throat hit ?

4) For those practice dripping, do you drip only when the vaper production gets lesser or every few vapes?

1. try blowing out the atty into a tissue and re-priming with juice. And check the threaded connections to make sure they are dry

2. throat hit is a burn of nicotine against the back of your throat. brand new attys often have nasty primer on them like machine oil - that should be removed by * blowing out, priming, waiting, vaping mostly off without inhaling, repeat from * until it is vapable.

3. never heard of dry hit

4. I drip when there is less vapor. But I don;t drip much - no expert.

Dormouse is right. I beleve a "dry hit" Is when there is no juice left in the attie and its dry resulting in a metallic kind of taste.

Don't let the atty get dry..tastes bad and will eventually result in a dead atty and if you flood it that can be bad for it too.

I dont have an ego but general rule of thumb on a 510 is once deprimed (blown out) drip 5drops,leave a minute then vape.

After that drip2- 3 drops vape around 5 or six drags then drip 3 and so on.
Good luck and welcome.

I think a lot has to do with what juice you are using. If you find the flavor does not last more than a few vapes with 2-3 drops, you may have bad sauce. I get a good 10+ vapes when dripping.

As far as throat hit, it is the sensation that you are inhaling smoke similar to smoking an analog. It is simulated by the nicotine but as far as I know also by other ingredients in the juice so some juices with the same amount of nic may not have the same throat hit as others.

Not too sure about what a dry hit is either.

I add more juice when vapor and/or flavor start decreasing.

Hope that helps, I'm no expert either :)

Hi Flyin,
I've never heard the term dry hit either. Do you maybe mean dry burn?
If so, a dry burn is when the juice gets gunked up and kind of forms a hard film over the atomizer element. Some ppl like to "dry burn" it off with no juice on the atty while holding down the battery button until there is no vapor coming out of the atty. Caution, though, you can blow an atty this way. Some ppl (like me) have such a decrease in atty performance that it's a choice of either tossing the atty or giving it a whirl with a dry burn.

Welcome to ECF. I hope your vaping journey is a good one.:)

you are enjoying it so far... that's good... i only drip for the last 6 months after dumping my bottom feeders which have a tendency to flood the atty imo... and dripping a controlled amount right on the wick imo is the best vape.

- notice when the taste starts turning a bit harsh... means it's getting dry and time for more drips.

- too many drips and you get flooding; gurgling, low vapor... so after you go through the things for a new atty (blowing out primer, 3-5 drops) make sure you figure out what is the right amount of drops... some like just 2, or 3, or 4... any more imo too much.

Hmm... Dry hit... Maybe the back of your throat is dry (not enough fluids, drinking only water while vaping) or you're inhaling it too much like a well packed (hate to use it as a reference, but for lack of a better analogy...) joint. *shrug* Its happened to me a couple times and got me coughing like my younger, more reckless days.

Hi there!

1. Well, it ill depend on the atty that you're using as well as the juice itself. there are some juices that burn faster than ohters, and there are some attys that burn the juice faster as well. does it have a burnt taste?

2. Again the feeling that you're having will depend on the atty and the juice that you're using.. try to vape a little bit slower and for a longer time just to see if the same thing happens or not..

3. Sincerely, never heard of dry hit, but for the name I assume that you get it if you don't have any liquid on the atty;

4. well, for me, I drip everytime I'm starting to get that burn felling followed by a decreased on the vaper production..at that time, 3 lillte drops and that should do the trick ;)
