"Dummy" cartridgess on new 510 attys

Is the cartridge that comes with a new 510 atty usable? Some suppliers call these dummy carts and say to throw them away. However, they fit well and look identical to a regular cartridge. Seems like you just need to add your filler material and not have to buy the cartridges?

That's what I did with mine. Don't toss them, put Rite Size U in them. They're perfectly useable.

Ditto - I keep all mine and re-use them. They get 'baggy' over time so having a bunch is a good call.

I like the ptb so far (works great for me), or you could always keep them empty if you want to try out dripping at all. Which might I add is a good way to try out flavors without committing a cart to them if your not sure you'll like it

Blow through the hole and if air comes out the sides like the other ones do, I see no reason why you could not add the white filler stuff + juice and you should be good to go.

I have never investigated one, I just throw them out. lol

you can use em to drip or put the filler in,i personally use the filler and just use em as extra carts

I use them 'cos I use the blue foam plug mod. Just add my juice, add the blue foam plug and there you have it, a perfectly useable cart!

i use mine also for the blue foam mod..i cant see any dif between them and the ones that come in cart packs.

We've always kept them. Fill with Fluval and vape away.

I use 'em too, and really don't clean them first, but I think the reason some people toss them is that they aren't sealed in plastic "for your protection" or whatever. Theoretically, they could be subject to less clean & sterile workspace when they are manufactured. I employ the 5-second rule, so I don't let such things bother me...

I have a few myself that I did not throw out. I was thinking of trying a zfmvapors ZFM inserts on them. Anyone use ZFMs?

I only buy empty carts for my 510 atties. I actually buy the 901 pen style carts and use them on the 510. The pen style carts are much more comfortable and I would not go back to the round carts after using these.

What do they look like when they get "baggy"? I'm still using some of the same ones since Oct '09 and they seem fine. I wouldn't want to be PI by ignorantly using baggy carts...un. 8-o

I think he means "boggy" or funky. Should be fine if you give a cleaning now and then.

I've also noticed that a couple of my dummies haven't fit very well, real loose and leak a lot more then the tighter fitting ones, but I've only found a couple like that so far. :-/
