So was wondering everyone's thoughts on when to keep or dump juice. I loaded a couple of protanks with things that I wasn't absolutely crazy about and have other juices I have yet to try but I have read that some juices take some steeping. I hate to be wasteful but also hate to look at unused juices that are so tempting and a full protank of something I can't imagine going through. When do you know it's time to dump it and load something new? Or do you just try to plow through it at least? Or let it sit longer?

I dump it these days. I used to hate dumping juice but putting juice back into a bottle of fresh juice could also contaminate the bottle with burnt/toasty flavor especially with older coils. My thinking is that even if I dump 3ml of juice it's still costing me WAY less than the half cigarettes I chucked all the time. I hated putting those in my pack too because it made all my fresh smokes taste like ..... Just my 2 cents.

If I've gone through more than say, half a tank of something, and just want to switch it up, I tend to pour the excess into a separate, glass bottle (it's the only glass one I have, making it easy to ID) as opposed to risking contaminating the original bottle with juice that might have possibly burned/darkened/etc. If I only took a puff or two and don't like it, I will indeed dump right back into the bottle, usually using a syringe. The glass bottle ends up filled with all various flavors, sometimes I get something interesting when I sample it at the end of a week/month/whatever, other times I just add a half mil of menthol (covers any other flavors) and use it for emergencies when I'm out of juice.

I'm in the dump it camp - I never pour juice back in to the bottle.

Also, when trying a juice, just put in enough to cover the wicks - then if you don't like it, you are only throwing out .5ml or so.

Better yet, buy yourself a cheap 510 dripping atomizer. It'll screw in to pretty much anything you have and you can just drip 4 or 5 drops in it to try a juice.

It's what all the cool kids are doing*

Haha i agree. I just dump it. BUT.... I did buy a 510 dripping atomizer that i use now to test the ejuice to see if i like it, then i don't worry about ruining the cartos that i use.

I never dump, well, not on purpose. I've dumped a whole tank accidentally because I unscrewed the wrong piece.
When I want to try new flavors, I do the same as Aglet and only fill a little bit.

Lot of juices do need steeping so I'd try the juices again in a couple weeks to a month before deciding if you like them or not.

I never would put it back into the bottle, that's just bad practice. A chemist would never put back reagents into the original bottle once it leaves. Similarly you wouldn't put back ketchup back into the bottle if you took out too much, you don't pour back a drink into a bottle...at least I hope you don't. You run the risk of contaminating the whole batch. Even if you poured it into a clean vessel it shouldn't go back into the original bottle again. If you really want to save it pour it into an clean unused old bottle.

I'm going to have to try dripping. I have a ton of juices that I haven't even tried yet so maybe that's the way to go.
It really is the way to go when trying out new juices. Next best choice, as previously mentioned, is to only put a little bit in the clearo so you're not wasting much if/when you dump it, but a dripper minimizes waste and is far easier to clean and reuse immediately.

If I don't like a juice fresh out of the mail, I'll put it in the cabinet and allow it to steep for a few weeks. I try it again after the steep, and if it's still bad it either goes in the trash or I'll PIF (pay it forward) to somebody else who wants it/is brave enough to try it. It gets said so much that it's almost a cliche, but 'taste is subjective'....what one person hates may be another person's favorite flavor.

Another good tip is to get a small bottle of EM (ethyl maltol) which is a sweetener and a small bottle of menthol flavoring (say from Wizard Labs or Mount baker vapor)

Then when you get a juice you don't like, you have the option of adding a little sweetness or a little menthol. I've managed to 'save' a lot of juice doing this.

I'm not saying you can make unvapable juice into an ADV, but sometimes you can make something palatable.

any particular dripper that would be good to start with?
Something as simple and inexpensive as a regular Joye 510 atomizer works just fine to start with. Something like this: Joye 510 Atomizer

If you're using an eGo type battery that's not variable voltage, you may consider using a low-resistance model: Joye LR 510 Atomizer

For $9.95 you can get 5 from digital cigz. Use code newsave10 to get 10% off.
Joyetech 510 Atomizer 5-Pack (2.3ohm) | DigitalCiggz.com

If you just want one, I get these from kidney puncher. KP Long Barrel Atomizer - Kidney Puncher these are the attys I am currently using.

Avidvaper is another place that a lot of people recommend.

or the links that Cactus Breath posted are good too. Options are good :)

Just watch the shipping, it can add a lot of $$$.
