Cruising WalMart today looking for LorAnns (They never have it and I am left with Watkins, grr...) I noticed little pouches of some new Duncan Hines thing called Duncan Hines Frosting Creations. Basically it's a small envelope of flavoring powder that you mix into "blank" frosting. They have a HUGE variety of flavors, Orange Cremesicle, Cotton Candy, Apple Pie, Chocolate Marshmallow and on and on and on...

Here you can find a video (that I can't embed) on how it works.

Looking at the ingredients on the package, there didn't seem to be anything innocuous... sugars, artificial flavorings, some colorings...

These pouches are dirt cheap too, $0.87. I did NOT buy any, but here comes my question(s)... Is there anything about these that would be wrong or dangerous to mix into a base liquid and go nuts with? Has anyone tried them? Do they show promise, or should run from them like we would run from an ex-lover?

I wanna try them, but being new to this... I thought I'd ask the experts first! Thanks!

You can get an 8 oz bottle of flavoring from Wizard Labs and some of the other suppliers for around $1.50. Cheaper if they're running a sale. Savings isn't all that huge to risk it.

LOVE Wizard Labs. On my last order they sent me a ml of Mt Dew. I would NEVER consider ordering anything remotely like Mt Dew... but man if it wasn't great and is now in heavy rotation! I like that they helped me find a new flavor!
