Dura-C v 401--question

Maybe someone can help me--and let me know if I am doing something wrong, or if this is just the way it is supposed to be:

Got the Dura-C, and love it--especially with the passthrough (I feel like I am vaping my computer)...but, when I inhale the vapor, while I do get the throat hit and I do get the nicotine--what I don't get is vapor on the exhale. Well, there is some, but it is seriously diminished and barely visible. It is not the e-cig (at least I don't think it is) because if I don't inhale, there is quite a bit of vapor.

So today I got the 401, hooked it up to the computer. I expected the same thing as with the Dura-C, but to my surprise I exhaled a plume worthy of a tobacco cigarette. So I sat and happily blew vapor rings most of the afternoon

I honestly do think I am inhaling them both the same, but since one has the nifty push-button, I may be mistaken and doing it differently without knowing it.

FWIW, I did put a fresh cartridge on the Dura-C, blew through the atomizer from the battery end, and eventually, added some JC juice in case the cartridge was a bit dry.

Is there a significant difference in the exhaled vapor on different e-cig models? Or, does one need to inhale differently with a manual battery?

Interesting dilema!!!
As far as my experience goes, there hasn't been any noticable difference between vaping on the battery vs vaping on the passthrough. Sounds to me like you're not getting enough power on the passthrough. My Dura works great both ways!
However.... one thing that I do while using a manual vs an automatic. I hit the button before I start to inhale. just a few seconds does the trick for me.

I noticed my 510 wasnt giving me near the vape they used to. One atty worked OK after i blew it out and cleaned it,but its on loan to a friend trying out vaping.
Well,I was all but convinced I had another problem.Batteries getting weak?? Am I drawing it differently? I dont remember having to suck this hard to get a little plume of vape. I cleaned them and they worked better...but not like i remembered......Still can get a great throat hit and the taste is good....new cart no difference...
Turns out all the attys i still had in my possesion where just weak.One actually ceased to work at all after following some "cleaning tips" here.
Coincidental? Dont know,dont care.It wasnt working worth a damn anyway.

I borrowed one from my sister in law and WOW. That was the issue.
I can cause temporary blindness from the vapors.

I got a new atomizer in the mail today, and ohhhh what a difference! Now I see why people like this thing

And I was looking around on the Janty site--and I apparently got two of the TAWA atomizers instead of one good one and one TAWA. The new one is a "real" one--the TAWAs really stink

But I read somewhere to soak 'em in mouthwash, blow it through a couple of times, then dry them out. I figured they are useless as is, so I might as well try it. It's not like I can make them *worse.*

Anyone know a good cheap source for Dura-C atomizers?
