Hi All

I've alreadt started to make e-liquids on my own and I've found a lot of information on this formu (BTW Thanks A Lot).

I've already found some mixing procedures - let me present some of them:

1. First add all of needed flavours to a bottle and fill up a bottle with a base (PG, VG, VPG etc.).
2. Add some base to a bottle, add flavours and fill up a bottle with a base.
3. Add some base to a bottle, add the 1st flavour, add some base, add the 2nd flavour....add some base, add n'tn flavour and fill up a bottle with a base.
4. First add base to a bottle and then add all needed flavours.

Of course - shake well, put the bottle in dark place, left the bottle open, wait 1 day or 2 weeks, etc.

Which way is correct? What is the best method for preparing own e-liquid?

Thank You very much in advanced

Regards

HamsterJack

P.S.

Sorry for my English - it's a little bit corroded... ;)

I first add my nic juice and VG. Cap bottle, shake and hold under hot tap water for 20 secs. Wipe water off bottle shake again and add flavor. Cap and shake and add PG. Shake and put in dark cupboard to steep.
I believe this method ensures that the nicotine and thick VG mix well as the warming of it thins the VG. I use 40 ml bottles but only mix 30 ml thus allowing room to shake/ mix the ingredients properly.
You're English is perfectly fine

I fill the bottle 3/4 full of base, add concentrated flavoring(s) and additives, cap the bottle, give it a good shake, and I'm done! I'm never patient enough to steep the liquid, but my mixes are relatively simple. I always shake the liquid well before using it to refill.

(With all respect to vapoor eyes er, whose username and avatar I adore!, I don't see how it can make much difference in what order you add ingredients, as long as you shake well to mix, but that's just my opinion...)

My main concern with mixing is that the nicotine be evenly dispersed within the mixture. Everyone has their own way and if it works it's all good.

OK. I understand. My "ready to use" base (I usually buy ready VPG 50/50 12 mg or Mint VPG 70/30 12 mg) has an information (in free translation): "shake before use" on a bottle label.

Once again Thank You very much.

You're welcome. I buy my base in higher nic concentration in 100% PG and then dilute with PG and VG (both USP or BP) I buy at the pharmacy. Much cheaper this way.
This is the calculator I use- free and easy to use:
eJuice Me Up - Best eJuice Calculator
For measuring Nic, PG, VG and flavors I use a 10 ml oral med dispenser- about $2.00. Have to clear coat nail polish the numbers before using otherwise they wash away:

Your are right. But - I think - in the beginning of my "mixing adventure" it's better and safer to use "ready to use base" at desirable strength. In the future I'm going to do nic juices in Your way (even in Poland this way is cheaper), but I need more experiences. And of course I know this software eJuice Me Up - Best eJuice Calculator. It's very good and really easy to use. To be honest, I'm going to do my own program for mixing e-liquids...

Thanks a lot

I measure my flavors into a glass graduated cylinder then dump them in my bottle then I measure my nic in the same graduated cylinder dump it in the bottle then I measure my PG in the same cylinder dump it in the bottle. top the bottle with VG. then I take the sealed bottle and put it in mug and run hot water from my one cup coffee maker over it let it sit in there for about 5 minutes. then I put the bottle on a hobby paint shaker for about 3 minutes. then I put it in my DIY pantry until I'm ready to use it.

I don't know if there is a Best way to Mix a Recipe?

I like to use the same mg and PG|VG ratios (about 18mg @ 40% PG | 60% VG) for All my DIY e-Liquids. So I mix up a Big Bottle of Unflavored Nicotine Base to 21mg @ 30% PG | 70%. I use a Graduated Cylinder to do the Measuring.

I call this 21mg Unflavored Nicotine Base "Pre-Mix".

Then when I go to do a DIY Mix, I just pour the Premix up to a Line in on a 30 or 60ml Bottle and Add Flavoring/Sweetener. The Flavoring/Sweetener Lowers the mg to about 18mg. It also Raises the PG to about 40%.

I don't get too Hung Up on if the Final Mix is actually 18.5mg or 17.6mg. Or if the PG to VG Ratio is +/- 5%. I Can't really taste the Difference.

And it is So Much Easier because I Don't have a Sink Full of Syringes, Pipettes, Graduated Cylinders or Misc. Lab Glassware to wash Every Time I want to do a Mix.
