I posted in model-specific but am not getting any answers and think I'll make it more generic because I'm sure others want to know also. I bought mainly Joye C upgraded regular and passthrough batteries because of all their protection features. One has quit going into unregulated mode. Its a 1000mah passthrough. It did when it was new and I've been using it in rotation everyday with other batteries for about a year. The other ones bought at the same time and used the same way still go into unregulated mode. I don't use unregulated much though so can't really say when it stopped working or if its since dropping it about two feet onto a semi-hard surface some time ago.
Anyway that is what spurs me to ask but would like to know, in general, if I should stop using any of my batteries (PVs) that aren't performing as they did when new. I know about the inability to hold a charge from cell phone use but, so far, haven't experienced how these PVs act when they're dying or how they act if protected features are gone. For instance, if a puff counter on a VV stopped working would that be a sign that the battery is no longer safe to use?
