I apologise if this has already been posted, but just a noob question - I am new to this after all....

I am wondering - can the e-cig set off fire alarms? I know its not smoke, but I am a bit worried about using this at work. I am had a look on google and cannot see anything relating to the e-cig setting off a fire alarm, but apparantly, water vapour can (just what I read)

Can anyone confirm this for me please? I don't just want to start puffing away in work if theres a chance of the alarm going off.

Thanks in advance!

Some fire alarms ...More so in the toilets of some planes can be set of by condonsation, but i think you will find that the domestic fire alarm like the ones you get in your house or hotels etc wont be affected by e-smoking .... Any way even if they were to be, you would have to blow the vapor at full pelt into the alarm as the vapor evaporats before it hits the roof .... Hope that helps.

Most helpful. I will have a word with our building facilities guy when he's in on monday and ask if he has any objections (probably will, Kevin is a right miserable git!) but if I have to go outside, then so be it.

Good excuse to stretch the legs and p!ss off the others outside too lol.

Lol lol ....I wouldnt bother asking him ....Just smoke the damm thing as you got nothing to lose as even if you do set off the alarm you can just pass it off as a fault with the alarm cos you wont have an ashtray on your desk and their wont be any smell in your office and no one will see any lingering smoke lol lol ....They might want to strip search you though lol lol

To be on the safe side, just don't blow the smoke at the ceiling. As rusty says, it evaporates quickly.

We were smoking surreptitiously in a pub the other day (the usual bartender wasn't there and we only visit occasionally, so we didn't show off our e-ciggies) blowing the smoke downwards and nobody noticed.
