e-Cig charging question?

I've read a lot about battery life through this and many other forums. Everyone has an opinion on size and type of battery.

My question is: Can you simply plug your battery in between uses to keep the charge up, or will this seriously shorten the life of the battery?

I am home a lot and usually at the PC, so I am never really far away from a charging location. I am getting a starter unit that has 1 battery, so I can see if I want to make the transition to e-Cigs. If I like it I will most assuredly get extra Batts and Attys. As well as carts and e-liquid. But before I make a costly investment, I bought an inexpensive kit.

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know. batteries last about 300 recharges according to the Chinese manufacturers but only about 150 recharges according to a respected US hardware vendor. I don't know if putting it on the charger a lot would add into "recharges" or if keeping it away from the "running out of power" end (where making them perform is actually more stressful for the battery) would actually help them last longer. It certainly won't hurt short-term to put it on the charger frequently. Just make sure the threaded end is clean and dry each time.

All I have seen are Li-Ion batteries so memory effect is not an issue as it was with NiCad batteries. Still My preference is to have two batteries at least for each model I have. my favorites I have 6 or eight batteries for so I can have one charged or charging and at least one to vape. if I favor that PV, I want four batteries, enough for a weekend away from any power.

Starting out, I'd go with a second battery, then more once you find 1-3 models you really like.

E-cigarettes use Li-ion batteries which do not have a memory effect.

Sciping the techno talk that I do not fully understand, the answer to you question is yes.
There are several PCCs that work under that principal, only keeping the one battery charged between uses.

Does this affect the 300 recharge life expectency? I'ts not supposed to and really hard to prove either way.
It should work loong enough to give you an idea if you like it.

This is assumeing the 1 battery you have is good.

I have seen the PTC's and considered it. However for a first time purchase I got a relatively good deal on a trio and figured if I like e-Vaping I will probably deck myself out with a bunch of goodies. Including the PTC. I'm a 26 year smoker... I will probably need a lot of trinkets to occupy my mind and time.

    in a cave, eh?
Charging actually does reduce the life of your battery. But, li-on batteries don't like to be drained completely before charging. I'd say you shouldn't worry about continually recharging your battery. It works better than falling back on analogs, doesn't it?

An extra battery for backup is generally a good idea. If you're at your PC a lot, consider getting a 5 volt USB passthrough and USB wall adapter (don't plug your passthrough into your computer).
