My dad actually has been a long time smoker. His smoking he's coughing every night and in the morning. I really want him to quit or at least cut back by using an e-cig. He mentioned a guy at work got one, so I think I will buy him one. Now he smokes Kool Mild cigarettes. I don't know which e-cig would be the best for him. I was thinking an njoy NPro the smaller one. Not sure. Which e-cig would be best for him? Also which would be cheapest? I'm looking for something $50-65. So yeah I know it won't be the same as normal cigs, but I think it will be better than gum and patches. Thank you for your time.

Mon--if you want to get him off the smokes get him on that has some kick and is long lasting like the Mini or the Penstyle from Puresmoker--Stay away from the small ones like the Peewee or the Npro as they do not have the cartridge or battery life and he will only get frustrated and be back on the analogs before you can shake a match---Sun

the 901 is much easier to figure out when you are new to this.
I agree, you want it as easy as possible for a newbie, especially when you are buying it for someone else.

So far as menthol goes, again, make it as easy as possible with menthol carts and good menthol liquid. I thought the mint/menthol juice from thesmokelessshop and ecigsales was very menthol-ly ;) Haven't tried that juice from Puresmoker or from Totally Wicked. Also good sellers, e-smokeytreats (longer warranty) and cigtechs (longer warranty) and vaporguys.

I'm confused about this juice and all. From my understanding its just a cartdrige that contains the flavor. What's all this talk about juice and stuff?

The way I understand it, as I've only been vaping for 2 days now, the cartridge has a little packed cotton wad in the end of it that the atomizer touches. When you draw through as if to smoke, the atomizer heats the PG (Propelyne Glycol) in the cottom and creates a very fine vapo(u)r that is akin to the smoke that most analog smokers are used to and it's the nicotine carrier as well. Once the cartridge is empty, you can do one of three things: 1) buy some ejuice from one of the dealers mentioned, 2) throw away the old cartridge and use a new one or 3) sell the cartridge to someone who's willing to take a risk. OK, not really number three, but I can't wait to see the unscrupulous try that trick. ***Buy 3 used carts, get 10 free!!!*** But I digress. In the end, some companies will tell you not to use the juice because the quality cannot be gaurenteed, but I promise you one thing: you will spend a lot less money with refilling the cartridges using the ejuice than you will buying the cartridges in 5 or 10 packs. It's the way I see it anyway...

It's simple economics - refilling the cartridges by dripping nic liquid onto the filling material is much cheaper than constantly buying cartridges.

But beyond that, usually the flavor is better too, as compared to the pre-filled cartridges, and you have way much more choice in flavors as well.

Talked with my dad he told me he doesn't want a really long one. So not so sure what to do. He wants one that looks like a normal cigarette so that would mean orange cartridge white base I guess. So whats the best deal I can get on something like that?

That would be an M401 (AKA Intellicig EVO) in that case then.
Very small, very cigarette like, very like a real cigarette to smoke, good battery life.
(The downsides are that they're a pain to top up with liquid (compared to the 901) and they have a habit of leaking liquid through the mouthpiece so for both of these reasons, pre-filled cartridges might be a better, albeit more expensive, solution for this model.)
