I get stinging as well sometimes, I find if I take smallrt smooth draws I dont, I think you need to draw on them gentley and allow the atomizer to do its job, if you draw hard I dont think it gets vapped as well and whats stinging is nicotine hitting the back of your throat, if you ever used a nicotine inhaler, they sting!

Also I think as carts get older they get harsher too ? anyone else think this ?

Its 5 days now since I got the mini, and all in all Im impressed, the only problem I seem to be having is that I get a nasty stinging when inhaled in the back of the throat,is this normal,I hope not:oops:

Dee-it takes a little time for some people to get used to it...a week or two seems to be pretty normal...drink plenty of fluids, cos PG can dry your throat out.

Last week I was trying out the sedansa which was working great. Then both batteries died on it but I think there was more than one problem so we are now waiting for a replacement
I did find when the cartridges were low I got that stinging effect on the back of the throat which was quite a powerful sting .because the sedansa produces at present more vapour than any others I have tried so far the stinging was quite present . The atomiser seems to be quite powerful on this particular cigarette than all the others I've tried and the cartridges were not lasting very long plus I was getting that burning taste.
What I found that did do the trick with my particular problem was dripping some liquid on to the atomiser which kept helping but when all the juice had gone it seemed to be there again so more liquid went in to try and solve this again but when both batteries died decided to have it replaced but whether this is a reverent to your case I would not like to say.
And also didn't seem to make a dam difference in which way you inhale it. I have a mini. Supermini. Pen style have been smoking electronic cigarettes for one month and only had this problem with the sedansa which I hope the replacements will solve all my problems

Ned- it very well could- not all atomizers are created equal, and it's evident you got one that isn't workign well enough to have been sold on the market- but there's really no way to test these things before snedign htem out- it's a real hit-or-miss type of business unfortunately- we just have to agree to be the guinne pigs unfortunately

As others have said, the irritation will lessen as you get used to it. Remember how a real cigarette made you choke when you first smoked that? You got used to it, and you will get used to this.

That said, some e-liquids are harsher than others. the Loong Totem/E-Cig.com formula, which most manufacturers use for their cartridges, is the harshest. Try ordering carts or liquid from Janty, e-cig-sales or ePuffer. It's less harsh. Or, for the smoothest vapor, try Freesmoke. Expensive, but VERY smooth.
