BrittanyNI,

Thank you for the detailed reply. I already love this forum, everyone is so helpful. I realize that whatever the cost, getting off those cancer sticks is the real reason I'm giveing the e gigs a try. The money saving is the icing on the cake.:)

Thanks
aland

I think everyone has it covered with costs. I agree with you aland but I haven't saved a penny yet and I don't care. My health is priceless.

Edit: I have 2 eGo batteries that are almost a year old and get used a little everyday. However, they aren't my main PV's and have never seen low resistance. These 2 factors are why they are still alive but in the beginning, I used them all the time for 2 months. If you take care of them by not letting them completely die before charging and don't put low resistance on them, you'll get a lot longer life out of them.

+1 Hairball - not saving money.

Battery life: Kgos are my backup PVs. I rotate 3 of them with LR 1.5 attys and none have died yet (aprox 3 months). A whole kit with 2 1100 mAh batts is less than a carton of cigarettes ($45 at HoosierEcigSupply). I drip 95% of the time so I don't have much cartomizer expense. Once you learn to use an atomizer it can last for months.

Wow....... I did some math when I decided to go with the Volts. Assuming complete equipment failure every 3 months replacing 2 batteries, chargers, PCC etc. I'm looking at $280 on equipment. Assuming I never decide to fill a carto myself and stay with 1 per day (which I have been so far) EVERYDAY (there a days I smoke very little), that would cost me $800 per year. (without any sales or coupon codes)

Before the switch, I was averaging a pack a day of Ultra Lights at $8.06 per pack ----- YEAH $2942 for the year.

SO.... $1100 vs almost $3000 and I'm not getting tar and 4000 chemicals, my clothes don't stink, I don't have to stand outside in Upstate NY 2 feet of snow.... WINNING!

Once I'm brave enough to fill a carto myself, super winning!

I currently use a RIVA with CE2 Clearomizers and DIY juice. I figure that a set of 2 batteries will last me at least 3 months (8 batteries/year), CE2's will last me at least a week (50/year) and I use about 3 ml of juice daily (1000 ml/year):

$70 - 2 full Riva kits (so I have an extra charger)
$50 - 4 extra Riva batteries
$120 - 10 boxes of CE2
$200 - DIY liquid and flavoring
$100 - to cover shipping and extras

Comes out to $540/year or about $10/week.

Initially you will end up spending more, at least until you find the set-up that best works for you. You may also spend more on liquid until you find the flavors that you like. There were liquids that i thought I would like and ended up trowing out after just one vape.
