E-Cig making me lose my sense of taste?

I've only been vaping for about 2 weeks. Yes, I am experiencing the dryness in my mouth and lips, which I expected. But the last few days my sense of taste is messed up and it is driving me crazy! Nothing taste right, including the e-liquids I have!

I've never had this problem before, ever. In fact, I've always been what they call a "super-taster" (yes, even while being a smoker). So, losing my sense of taste is totally unacceptable! The only possible reason for it has to be from vaping.

I've been searching this forum all night to see if anyone else has experienced anything similar but haven't found a thing.

I hope someone reads this and comments. Thanks.

I have never heard anyone say this in any posts I have read here.. You might be going through a change of some sort. probably isn't the ecig.

It may be possible since e liquids dry out your oral tissues which may cause things to not taste as good..I would suggest drinking more water or rinsing your mouth out after vaping..

I had the same problem at first..... I think it was the combination of quitting analogs and going through some withdrawals. I just increased my water intake and it went away....

I'm constantly drinking water, juice, something...
Another thing is that my throat feels sort of sore, but also sort of numb, in a way. I can't explain it really...
Yesterday, my e-cigs didn't taste good, but today, they all tasted like crap! Even the 2 brand new ones with pre-filled carts!
I'm totally bummed out!

Hi cm i went thru the same thing for my first 5 weeks but it was due to my reg. Cig. Smoking for so long it is definatly part of withdraw.
Stick with it it will pass.
I smoked for 37 years believe me its well worth it and my boys are glad i switched.
No more smelly clothes or stinky house.
Just to name a few.
Keep vaping.

It is a normal withdrawal from cigs. I think most people go through it. Google cig withdrawals. There are a lot of odd things that happen but they do pass
then you find out how good food really tastes!!

I know people usinig PG say that you get "over" the sore throat part after a week...BUT I can NOT tolerate PG or VG juices, I just have way too many symptoms...I mix my own liquids using PEG-400 from Totally Wicked ..I get my pg and vg free flavorings to add to my PEG-400 from either Juicy Liquid "Juicy" line or Perfumers Apprentice..

Just a thought before you totally give up on e smoking..I've been experimenting with liquids for over a year and can tell you that PG, VG and Menthol liquids can all be a little harsh. But there are plenty of other vapors who aren't affected at all by them..

MissVapor, how does PEG-400 differ from the other? I wouldn't know how to go about mixing up my own. I think I'd be too afraid to. Why doesn't anyone sell a pre-made with it?

I don't find any issues besides dry throat, although it's not as severe as the first few weeks. I've been vaping since November without a single cigarette (after 25 years heavy intake).

I did find that using VG over an extended period did have a nasty effect on my throat and stopped using it.

Taste hasn't been an issue though.
