CTV News just ran a quick report on electronic cigarettes. Again they quoted Health Canada and the FDA and their warning. A Doctor came on spouting the usual warnings: Untested, Don't know what chemicals are being used, Will appeal to children because of the flavors. He also stated that there is no proof at all that it does help people quit smoking. Obviously our word is not making it past the censors, excuse me I mean the money makers.

If CTV is running a story on ecigs again, then they must be gaining huge popularity at rapid speeds! :vapor:

Edit: I must add that cleaners like lysol come in disturbing koolaid colours like purple and blue. Aren't they worried about the kiddies?
AND...what about cigarettes and ashtrays hanging around houses....what about the kiddies? Look what's proven to be in ciggies!
You get the point onlookers.

The one good thing is that the more they talk about them the more people will look into them. I really wish they'd at least mention or reference the U of A study as a starting point, but unbiased media is too much to ask in this day and age. I have a few people on my FB asking about them since I told them I switched last week and the more that try and succeed the more they will push against them until the sticking points don't stick to the mainstream anymore.

Well now. This is proof i need that i am in the middle of no where here in Winnipeg, and that we are apparently so far behind the times. How do i know this?

After having to go see four different Doctors in the last two weeks, speaking to countless nurse's, and even one call to the Manitoba Tele-Health, the second i mentioned i was using a electronic cigarette and when asked what is that (by Health care professionals btw) i needed to state it was a e-cig and go on about it.

What is odd is that each time i talked to a health care professional i was told and i quote: You really should not use that, as it is nicotine after all. Lets face it when you come down to the brass tax you can light up a pair of underwear, and if there is nicotine in there it would be just as ill advised.

The moral of this all? Some of you young'ns will not recall a world without the internet (we had the newspaper, TV and the encyclopedic Britannica!) and there was a phrase used even back then: Only believe half of what you hear. Reason i say this is that this whole conspiracy theory of Big Pharma pays XYZ to do a smear campaign on e-cigs is turning out to be a pet peeve. Media will run whatever article/ story they can just to create controversy so you can talk about it and share it, thus you turn into their free advertising machines.

To focus for a moment on your Health Care Professional experiences for a moment, I have experience the complete opposite. Every HCP that I have spoken to about personal vaporizers (gad I hate the e-cig label!!!) in detail have said "way to go!", "Can you give me more info?", "I'd like to recommend to other smokers."

If we get the "4 out of 5 doctors say that e-cigs are the better alternative" We are on our way.

First off, can i use the same Doctor's you do? Going beyond the scope of pv approval i am sick and tired of the witch doctor's here.

Second: LOL i never thought about that angel.....i like it :D
