I am a 40-year Marlboro man at 30 per day. Got my first vape a month ago. Immediatly lowered intake to 12 a day. Gradually worked down to 2 - 5 a day and been there the past two weeks. I am finding as my e-cig works better, the less desire I have for analogs. When my e-cig F's up, I start craving analogs. I finally got a sweet setup yesterday using a Twist and Kanger T2 clearo and I feel like I am ready to toss analogs out altogether. I just let these e-cigs "push" analogs out of my life. vaping makes you not want to have an analog. Let it do most of the work. That's why e-cigs are so beautiful.

The day I received my first ecig in the mail I remember sitting at the kitchen table reading the literature while waiting for the battery to charge. I finished reading and thought I will go outside and have a smoke while the battery's finish charging. As I got up I noticed one of the battery's was fully charged, I never had that last cig and have been vaping ever since. That will be 2 years on Nov 17th. I was a 2 pack a day smoker for about 34 years. I did try one analog about 2 weeks into vaping to see how it would be, it did nothing for me. Vaping worked for me and I had tried to quit numerous times using patches etc.

I stopped smoking the day my nic+ juice arrived, but that was a decision I made. I ordered 80mL of juice and forced myself to stick through them, even though I didn't like them all.

That said, some folks round here kept smoking analogues for a year+ while vaping. The key is that as you vape more, you'll smoke less, and less tobacco is definitely better than only tobacco.

Recently I got a craving for a smoke, and had one with no regrets. I knew earlier that day I'd end up wanting one because I was going to a party that'd run till the wee hours. I guess I primed myself for it, but whatever, it was a choice and not a need. Funny thing was, after I had that smoke I was actually craving a vape. After a few long pulls, craving was gone.

Needless to say, you're taking the first steps, don't beat yourself up if you keep smoking. Just stick to your guns and you'll push through it. One day you'll not have one, then a week, then a month, next thing you know you'll realize it's been a year.

Once I found ECF & bought a decent setup (Kgo), I have been able to cut the analogs WAY down.
Haven't totally quit yet but I only smoke 1 cigarette about every 3 days now. Pretty good I'd say.

Edit:
PS. Oh & the cigarette scorches my mouth! For about 12 hours after smoking a cigarette my mouth feels burned! You'd think I would stop that huh? That's called addiction.

Oh, I tried tobacco juices at first, but found the flavours to be nothing like a proper cigarette. They tasted more like, hm, a freshly opened pack. The taste from a cigarette is coming from a burning plant/paper, there's no burning when you vape so that charred taste is absent.

The one tobacco I did like was MLVs Arrgh Why 4?. The fresh pack taste is muted, with hints of caramels and a smidgin of vanilla, quite a nice blend. You'll hear a lot of praise for assorted RY4's, and I will recommend trying one out. Most vendors will carry at least one, though they all have different tastes, some favour tobacco, some the sweeter side. Also MLVs Sithgar is a good one if you like a more sweet pipey taste. Not my thing personally, it's a bit overpowering. I'm now buying anything but tobacco, the choices are pretty much endless.

But, I dare say, that if I ever was without my ecig, I am not sure I could resist an analog if that was my only option. I have cut down from 24 mg nicotine to 6 and sometimes 0 nic. I'm still hooked on the physical action, though.

I'm almost on my one year anniversary from analogs. I started on the dreadful KR808's and was still successful! (pack and a half a day, 25 year smoker). I went back and forth for awhile. But there's a point when you've got to crack down on yourself. If you're gonna quit, e-cigs are the best chance you'll ever have. I finally went down to a couple of butts a day (made sure they were butts, so they tasted REALLY nasty). Then, next thing I knew, I had three cigs in my purse for over a month, and ended up either giving them away, and the last grew so stale, I trashed it.

However, I also have to make sure, I'm never w/o my e-cig, juice, carto (clearo or tank, pick your fav), or I'm in trouble. If I ever do go through the odd craving or so, I have the emergency 24 mg on hand at all times. I'm down to between 12 and 6 mg now. GOOD LUCK!

I've only tried a few of the e-cigs, the ones from Sheetz and while I was trying them I still smoked regular ciggarettes. The e-ciggs were good for between breaks at work, or when it was raining. I only tried the Sheetz ones twice about a month or 2 ago. I want to get more into them, quit the ciggarettes completely but I need more info, that's why I'm here.

I've been vaping for two and a half years and still smoke, more as a matter of pleasure than need. I smoke no more (and usually no fewer) than four Marlboro Red 100s a day--two early in the morning, two late at night. It's been well over a year since I've exceeded that limit of four even once. Besides still liking the taste of cigarettes and the smell of smoke, it's kind of a strategy for me: This way, there's less temptation to quit vaping in favor of full-time smoking (40+ year habit, 1-1.5 PAD through most of it).

Don't be afraid to increase your juice nic levels. 6mg of nicotine from an analog does not equal 6mg/ml juice. Not only that but even if it DID equal that, you are only actually uptaking 10-25% of the nicotine compared to the analog due to the delivery method (not conclusive due to the way studies have been done so far).

I've only been vaping for two weeks and had a pack of cigarettes that I needed to get rid of. I've never craved them since vaping and actually dreaded smoking the one a day to get rid of my pack. The first one I smoked after a day of nothing but vaping actually made me physically ill. So I finished my pack by smoking one every morning before vaping. I've never been so glad to see an empty cigarette pack!
