Hi everyone! I was browsing the forums and saw that some people are using E-juice Calculators to mix their DIY liquids. It got me thinking, I am a software engineer student and I was looking for a summer project to keep me busy when I am not at work or outside with my friends. So how about developing an E-cig software for the community.

Here are some features I would like to have in the final build :

- ejuice Calculator (Calculate the amount of PG, VG, NIC, falvoring to put in the liquid to get your desired concentration)

- Variable voltage calc (Calculate Voltage/Impedance/Current for people using VV pv's to get their desired battery life/ and optimal settings with a specific impedance(ohms) atty.)

- A purchase calculator ( This would be included so the user is able to track just how much money he is spending on ecig stuff, as well as what it is being spent on, and how much he as saved since he started)

Might be included

- A review section ( I was thinking about setting up a database to be able to stock reviews on juices/flavorings/batteries/attys/carts and for it to be easily accessible. Every information on a product stocked in the same place)

Now that being said, if I do decide to include something like a database I will probably be needing to ask for a bit of money since it will cost me money to keep it up and running.

For now my plan would be to release this as a shareware so everyone can have it for free. I might publish different version with some new sections for people willing to pay a small fee, if I set up a DB or something like that.

I wanted to know what you guys thought about this, since I won't do it if the majority of the community doesn't see a need for this.

Also if you have suggestions on features to be added/removed, please tell me!

Fellow programmers welcomed to offer their help! :p

What I would like to see is a calculator that will accommodate multiple nicotine bases. There are a number of recipes for which I use either MB or RY4 as one of the base components, and it's kind of a pain because if I try to increase the strength or dilute the flavored base by also including unflavored nic, the existing calculators I've seen just won't work.

That is confusing, but I hope you see what I mean. Here's a real-world example that might shed some light.

I have a recipe, for which I want about 25% of the recipe to be made up of 36mg Dekang MB juice. I'm looking for about 20% additional flavoring, and I want the output to be 30ml at 18mg. Obviously I can't just dilute the MB and still hit the 18mg target, so I need the calculator to accommodate a second nic juice.

Of course, it would also be nice if the calculator tracked the VG/PG ratios of all component ingredients.

I would love to see a recipe app that allowed me to enter all of my flavors and tell me what recipes I could make.
Also, I would not stop your project just because someone else is making one. Go for it...
There are lots of programs that are the same or similar.

I would love to see something like this as well.

Thanks for the suggestions, keep them coming, as I will probably be starting work on the app soon. But I beleive it probably wil only be out by middle of summer with most features. I get what you are talking about ropethick... still trying to figure out how to calculate this but I'm sure I will come up with something. Also for the recipes @ babyblueut and @ zag, I think this would be a bit harder to implement since different people have different tastes... and if the software tells you to try, lets say, roasted almonds and honey, you might like it, but someone else might hate it. If i was to implement a database, I could try and compile a list of different mixes people like, give them a ranking and have it sorted with the most appreciated mixes.

It would be nice to have a standardized format for recipes. A database that would allow for sharing libraries of recipes across multiple platforms.
Years ago I made one similar for cocktails. I could list what I had and it would reveal all of the drinks I could make with it.
It was not really a program. Just a filemaker database. I should dig it out if I still have it.

You wouldn't neccessarily have to keep the database updated yourself (that sounds like a nightmare with all that's out there) Just make it editable by the user. I'm not interested in trying everything out there, but it would be nice to have a record of what I have tried, and whether it's worth buying again. I would love an all in one app, so I don't have to get a separate program when I start DIY.
