I think some of my clients couldn't afford it or maintain doing it. Some live on 89 bucks a month for personal things. I work with people who are functional quads and others have serious MI. I don't know how they could vape.

That makes my worries seem very insignificant indeed.

Hey, anyone that can afford tobacco, can afford the e cigs...they cost 1/3 as much. To start they can be kind of sticky, but once your going, its only pricey if your eccentric and always buying new gear.
Dont take that worng way..Ive met a few folks that live on close to nothing on SS or Disability....Nothing you can really say in those moments

While I generally agree with this in concept, in practice it's not quite so easy.... I compare it to the eating healthier for less arguments. It requires a great deal of educating up-front to get it ~right~ to make it less expensive. W/ e-cigs it's easy to fall into the mall kiosk realm which is overpriced and has been largely unreliable. Unless you're fortunate enough to live close to kiosks like those Mac runs.

Now, if you're a caregiver experienced in these things I bet you can work something out in PIF or with vendors directly to provide better priced, reliable, and educational start-up solutions. However, how likely would that be to 'fly' with the powers-that-be? I'm guessing that's another battle to yet be fought. -Magnus

Id love nothing more than to send out a care package, and find a post over there someday that the recipient is now tobacco free thanks to ol' chiefy...just saying. But I got that pif bug these days...just lookin for a target..just sayin :p

I'd be more than happy to help as well, if Diane will let us.

It sounds like her mom would like it to be as close to a cig as possible. I don't know how many analogs she smokes in a day or if she would find charging batteries a hassle, but maybe she could start with a kr808d-1? I mean at the very least that would help her decide if it's something she could do on a daily basis...

So true...

I'll add that I imagine the people who have spent a good deal of time researching eCigs are also the people that have had the best success making the transition from analogs.

From what Ive read, she just wants simple and menthol..And by the age, Im guessing she might not want to mess with filling either, or look strange, so prefilled would be best bet. An 808 kit would work I think. I will try to get a hold of one, just in case.
And I hope noone sees my actions as a one up, or looking for attention. I just know some good people, and Im fortunate, so I give back when I can. Kinda makes me forget my personal problems for a bit too when I focus on helping others days go better instead. Got that from Dale Carnegie..who got it from the good book...funny how that worked.

Done...if she accepts we should get a plan together on how to help her mom. Some of us can send a kit, others juice, etc.. Do we want to do this via PM?

Address yes...but discussion on whos chipping in what, is ok in open. Just no money can exchange. Pretty sure I have some menthol cartomisers for 808 and 510..so that part is easy.
